Story

Shankar (Sooraj Pancholi) is a soldier in Indian army. He gets injured in cross-border firing and sent to base hospital for treatment. But he decides to go to his home to help his mother go through the long pending eye operation. According to him, it was the best way to utilize his time. But little does he know that he will have to encounter many problems during his journey to home and then back to the battalion. Army personnel are always short on time hence Shankar has to hurry to save time for his family and the country.

Rahul Gandhi was given relief from the Supreme Court in a content case after he wrongly linked the Rafael order of the apex court to his “chowkidar chor hai” phrase against Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The three-member bench headed by Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi accepted the unconditional apology offered by Rahul Gandhi with a warning to be “more careful” about future remarks.

On April 10, 2019, Rahul Gandhi then Congress President quickly reacted to Supreme Court’s ruling on Rafael jet deal. It said that classified documents accessed by the media could be used as evidence to consider a review of the deal.

Rahul Gandhi welcomed the order and then went a step ahead to say that the apex court also agreed that chowkidar chorhai. But the SC took strong note of the comment and sought explanation for the comment. After the SC order, Rahul Gandhi said the comments were made “unintentionally and inadvertently” and offered an “unconditional apology” for his comments.

BJP leader Meenakshi Lekhi sued Rahul Gandhi for his “chowkidar chorhai” comment. SC Refers Sabarimala Temple All-Women Entry To A Larger Seven-Judge Bench

Supreme Court decided that the decision to review to end ban on women between 10 and 50 entering Sabarimala Temple in Kerala should be taken-up by a larger seven-judge bench. Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi related the question of women of all ages entering into Sabarimala Temple to issue of Muslim and Parsi women and female genital mutilation in the Dawoodi Bohra community.

The apex court with a majority of 4:1 ended the centuries-old ban on women of mensural age – 10-50 – from entering the famous Ayyappa shrine last year. The SC called the religious practice of prohibiting women from 10-50 years of age as “illegal and unconstitutional”. It upheld the constitutional right of evert individual to practice their faith.

SC Gives Clean Chit To Rs. 58,000 Crore Rafael Deal

The Supreme Court upheld the decision of buying 36 fully-loaded Rafael fighter jets from France while rejecting the petitions seeking review of the Rafael order. The apex court gave clean chit to the government in Rafael deal in its November 14 order.

What was the Rafael deal?

NDA government bought Rafael jets from France through a Rs. 58,000 crore inter-government deal. But the opposition parties alleged irregularities in the deal. Supreme Court was hearing the review of Rafael deal but the court found nothing concrete in the allegations and set aside the review petition for an investigation into alleged irregularities.

14th November is the birthday of Jawahar Lal Nehru. He was the first Prime Minister and architect of the modern India. Born on 14th November 1889, Jawahar Lal Nehru was fondly called Chacha Nehru for his love for children. Children’s Day is also known as Bal Diwas and it is celebrated across the length and breadth of the country.

Earlier Children’s Day was celebrated on November 20 to coincide the celebration with Universal Children’s Day by the United Nations. And it continued until the death of Jawahar Lal Nehru in 1964. Bangladesh Struggling To Save Wickets In the First Day Of 1st Test In Indore

The first day of 1st Test between India and Bangladesh in Indore saw the guest team kneeling down before the Indian attack. Bangladesh lost its three top players including Mohammad Mithun in 26 overs and it accumulated only 63 runs.
