The other two colours are Glacial Green and Onyx Black.

Some of the leaks are found to be in line with the previous reports about the new phones. It shows that OnePlus is planning to launch three devices – OnePlus 8, OnePlus 8 Pro and OnePlus 8 Lite. Foreign technology professionals holding H-1B visas want their permissible post-job loss limit to stay in the US from existing 60 days to 180 days. They fear massive layoffs due to the coronavirus crisis.

It is a non-immigrant visa that allows US companies to hire professionals from foreign countries from countries like India and China. According to present rules, the US administration allows foreign professionals to leave the country within 60 days of losing their jobs.

Economic experts have expressed fear of massive layoffs in the job sector due to slowdown of the economy due to coronavirus crisis that is affecting every sector of the society. Already 3.3 million Americans have filed initial jobless claims till March 21. But the peak of coronavirus and joblessness is yet to come. It is estimated that approximately 47 million people will lose their jobs in America.

But H-1B visa holders are kept out of employment benefits. Also, they aren’t entitled for social security benefits even after making contributions to social security. The initial figures of jobless people show that most of the jobless people will be H-1B visa holders. Companies have already started informing their employees about the layoff.

Future of H-1B visa holders

The visa holders have demanded the Trump government to extend their grace period from 60 to 180 days. They have started a campaign on the White House website regarding the same. The petition has attracted more than 20,000 signatures but it requires a minimum of 100,000 signatures to get a response from the government.

The US Reached The Cap Of 65,0000 H-1B Work Visas For 2021

The US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) announced closure of H-1B visas for the fiscal year 2021. The federal agency that screens and allocates H-1B visa applications said that it had reached the congressional mandated limit of 65,000 visa cap.

USCIS reached H-1B visa cap

Enough requests from corporations and businesses were received said the federal agency. It further said that it had reached the cap. USCIS randomly selected applicants among the registrations properly selected.

The agency received electronic registrations during the initial period to reach the FY 2021 H-1B numerical allocations. The fiscal year begins from October 1, 2020. The agency is now in the process of notifying the successful applicants.

USCIS said that the successful H-1B visa applicants that include both businessmen and companies would be notified by the agency before March 31. The applicants could file an H-1B cap subject petition after getting the notification.

Deadline for H-1B visa application

The new H-1B Electronic Registration Process implemented was rolled out before the start of the application filing season on April 1. The interested parties including businesses and companies were asked to send their applications on before March 20 that was the last date for registering for H-1B visa with USCIS. Earlier, the last date of visa application was June 30.

The federal agency also issues additional visas to those that have earned masters and higher degrees from a US institution. It has the power to issue 20,000 H-1B visas to students of higher studies.

Tom Aspray Explains Features Of A Bear Market Rally

Tom Aspray said that sharp rebounds were always to be expected during bear markets. He said it in the context of his recent discussion on the 1987 market crash and past bear markets. But his focus was to highlight the six-day rally that took the S&P 500 up 19% from the lows that started on October 28, 2008.

Result of the six-day rally

During the first rally in 2008 bear market, the press said that the market was in the process of establishing a bottom. But the S&P 500 was making a new low even seven days after the rally. The market commentators delivered similar comment after the last week’s three-day rally. But Tom Aspray wasn’t convinced with those comments.

Tom’s vision of bear markets

He said that it is necessary to acknowledge and navigate bear market rallies in order to understand the bear markets. He gave example of Invesco QQQ Trust (QQQ) that witnessed a high of $192.72 at last Thursday’s high point. Tom said that it was just a few cents above the 38.2% Fibonacci retracement resistance at $192.64.

He further said that on Thursday, Nasdaq 100 Advance/Decline line closed above its Weighted Market Average (WMA) but it reversed on Friday. The QQQ closed 3.4% the very next day. He raised a question that was had the rally already over.

But all wasn’t over. He said that the bear market followed a type of continuation pattern with a brief pause in the major trend. Since the world entered the bear market, it would see severalbear market rallies.

IMF Projects Recovery From Recession In 2021

International Monetary Fund (IMF) said that the world had entered a recession due to the coronavirus pandemic.But the IMF projects a recovery next year.

IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva said that they have reassessed the prospects for growth for 2020 and 2021. It was clear that the world had entered a recession as bad or worse than in 2009. Also, they projected recovery in 2021.

Recovery from COVID-19 in 2021

IMF managing director emerged from the meeting of the governing body of IMF and Financial Committee that represent 189 members. The meeting was to discuss the unprecedented challenge posed by COVID-19.

She said that the key to recovery was only if the international community succeeded in containing the virus and prevent liquidity problems. The US was in recession, as was the rest of the advanced economies of the world. Also, the developing economies were in recession. They were working on their projections for 2020 said Georgieva in the answer to a question.

Georgieva stressed the need for virus containment for the economy to stand still. She said that containment was very necessary to come out of this phase. Also, she highlighted the key concern of the long-lasting impact of the sudden stop of the world economy.

She said that there was a risk of bankruptcies and layoffs that not only could undermine the recovery but also could erode the fabric of the society. She further said that many countries had started taking measures like addressing their healthcare and cushion their economies to mitigate the effect of recession.
