Trump Decorates Retired Four-Star General With Medal Of Freedom

US President Donald Trump decorated the retired four-star Gen. Jack Keane with the highest civilian honour at a White House ceremony. He called the Army veteran a “visionary,” a “brilliant strategist” and a “fearless patriot.”

Trump showered praises over Jack Keane

The president said that in 2006, Jack helped engineer the surge that stabilized the deteriorating situation in Iraq. Also, that Jack had continued to offer his sage counsel to military and policy leaders by visiting the troops in the frontiers.

Gen. Jack Keane

Born in Manhattan, New York, Jack Keane attended the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College in Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, and the Army War College in Pennsylvania. The 77-year-old General started as a paratrooper during the Vietnam War and later served in Somalia, Haiti, Bosnia and Kosovo.

In 1991, Jack Keane helped saved former Army Gen. David Petraeus when he was shot during a live-fire exercise. Petraeus later became director of CIA. Also, Keane also directed 1.5 million soldiers and civilians in 120 countries in the capacity of chief operating officer of the Army for more than four years.

Dispute between Trump and Keane

Jack Keane thought that withdrawing US forces from Syria was a strategic mistake. He agreed that President Trump crushed the Islamic State but that his decision wold “lose the peace by withdrawing.”

But Keane supported Trump’s decision to pull out of the 2015 Iran nuclear deal. The deal was negotiated during the Obama administration. He thought that former presidents had coddled Tehran.

Rana Kapoor Has Properties Worth Rs. 1,000 Crore In Delhi

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) prevented the Yes Bank founder Rana Kapoor from selling three Delhi properties worth Rs. 1,000 crore. He was about to shift his base outside the country.

According to sources, ED was tipped off about Rana Kapoor planning to shift to the US, the UK or France after selling his properties in Delhi and Mumbai. He didn’t want to leave any asset in India before leaving.

The properties at 40, Amrita Shergill Marg, 18 Kautilya Marg in Chanakya Puri and the Diplomatic Enclave on Sardar Patel Marg are linked to Bindu Kapoor wife of Rana Kapoor. Bindu Kapoor is also under the scanner over suspicious transactions by former Yes Bank boss. The officials said that Rana Kapoor was in touch with top realtors in capital to sell the properties.

The luxurious bunglow at 40, Amrita Shergill Marg, a prime location in Lutyens’ Delhi was bought in the name of her company Bliss Abode Ltd. while the other two properties belong to Bliss Villa (Delhi) Private Ltd.

The Amrita Shegillbunglow was bought from Avantha Realty. The company belonged to Gautam Thapar that had borrowed money from Yes Bank. According to sources, Bindu Kapoor got this property on account of loan default by Avantha Realty.

Bliss Villa (Delhi) Pvt. Ltd. that owns The Chanakya Puri property is classified as non-government company and is registered at the Registrar of Companies, Delhi.The third property in Diplomatic Enclave on Sardar Patel Marg is also a prime property.

• Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan said that over 8.74 lakh passengers coming from foreign countries had been screened. Also, the cruise ships are prevented to dock at Indian ports.

• Billions of dollars were wiped off global markets including domestic market on Monday.

• The Manipur government closed all entry points with Myanmar to prevent spread of coronavirus.

• Prime Minister Narendra Modi defers his visit to Bangladesh next week after detection of coronavirus cases in the country. He was called to commemorate the 100th birth anniversary of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

• The coronavirus scare could cost the global economy between $0.1 and $2.0 trillion warned UN economists. Also, they asked to increase spending to prevent the infection.

Jyotiraditya ScindiaIs Set To Join BJP Later This Week

JyotiradityaScindia resigned from Congress on Tuesday morning. The former Union Minister and four-time parliamentarian resigned shortly after meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi. Days after criticising BJP over violence in Delhi, he is expected to join BJP later this week and could be rewarded with a Rajya Sabha seat and a berth in the union cabinet.

Shortly after his exit, 21 Congress MLAs also put their resignation letters to the Governor. Some sources in Madhya Pradesh Raj Bhawan revealed that 25 MLAs were ready to resign.

• On Holi, JyotiradityaScindia posted his letter of resignation on his Twitter account. The latter was dated March 9 and addressed to Congress chief Sonia Gandhi.

• Minutes later, Congress expelled the 49-year-old leader for “anti-party activities” but his supporters said that Gandhis didn’t reach out to him.

• Scindia only replied “Happy Holi” to the question of joining the BJP later this week.

• Meanwhile the BJP leadership including PM Modi, Amit Shah, party chief JP Nadda and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh met to choose candidates for March 26 Rajya Sabha elections.

• Once close to the Gandhi family, Scindia had reportedly been unhappy with Congress for some time.

• Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said that Scindia betrayed the party.

• Former Madhya Pradesh CM Digvijay Singh hit out a “conspiracy” to topple the government.

• MLA Bisahu Lal, one of Congress MLAs who resigned from Congress, later joined the BJP in presence of Mr. Chouhan.

• Green colour made of copper sulphate can cause eye problems like allergy, swelling and light problems.

• Silver colour is made of aluminium bromide that can cause skin cancer. But this colour is more popular these days.

• Red colour could contain mercury that can also cause skin cancer.

• Many popular colours have heavy metals like silica lead that causes skin allergies and eczema problems.

People are advised to avoid synthetic colours and use only herbal colours that are 100% natural and safe. Also, there is warning for coronavirus. Playing Holi in groups could be dangerous as coronavirus spreads through human contacts.

• Dr Kabir Sardana Dermatologist advised not to use China made colours in any situation. He urged to play Holi without colours and avoid getting wet.

• Dr Ajay Lekhi, former president of Delhi Medical Association, said that people could play Holi only with herbal colours, sandalwood and turmeric.

• Actor Sandeep Mohan said that harmful colours always damage the skin. People should avoid playing Holi with colours. He suggested herbal colours for Holi.

Traders said that herbal colours are more in demand. People are showing interest in natural colours. They further said that orange and yellow colours were more in demand.

Court Allows Megan Thee Stallion To Release Music

Megan Thee Stallion said that she was a little worried when she almost couldn’t release her new album due to a dispute with her record label. She was talking to the Associated Press after a Houston judge ordered the Friday release of her album.

Stallion talked about the dispute

The performed posted on social media that she signed a bad contract with Houston-based record label 1501 Certified Entertainment years ago and that she and her management team at Jay-Z’s Roc Nation company tried to renegotiate the contract but it turned into a battle marked by bitter social media exchanges.

The label was accused of not sharing data on Stallion’s music with her management team. And when the performer and her team sought to renegotiate the terms contract, the label started to intimidating and threatening the performer. But the label didn’t reply to the allegations.

Small win for the performer

On Monday, Stallion got a small reprieve from State District Judge Robert Schaffer when the judge barred 1501 from withholding release of her music by issuing an initial temporary restraining order. On Wednesday, the State District Judge Beau Miller denied 1501’s appeal and reaffirmed the order. Also, the judge scheduled hearing on her request for a temporary injunction against the label on March 13.

Stallion decided to sign with Roc Nation

The performer said that Roc Nation was awesome and that they started helping her with stuff even before she officially signed with them. She further said that they helped her enroll into school swiftly.

Daughter Of Yes Bank Founder Arrested At Mumbai Airport

Roshni Kapoor, daughter of Yes Bank founder Rana Kapoor, was apprehended at the Mumbai airport while she’s boarding a flight to London. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has already issued a lookout notice against her and other family members of Rana Kapoor.

Rana Kapoor arrested

On Sunday, the Yes Bank founder was arrested and sent to the custody of ED till March 11 by a Mumbai court. He was arrested on the charges of money laundering after hours of investigation and searches at the residents of his daughters – Roshni Kapoor, Rakhee Kapoor Tandon, and Radha Kapoor – inDelhi and Mumbai.

Allegations on Rana Kapoor

In the court, the ED lawyer Sunil Gonsalves alleged that Yes Bank had bought debentures of Dewan Housing and Finance Ltd. worth Rs. 3,700 crore. Dewan Housing had granted a loan of Rs. 600 crore to Doit, a company owned by daughters of Rana Kapoor.

The lawyer further alleged that crime of Yes Bank was amounted to Rs. 4,300 crore. Also, that Rana Kapoor had refused to cooperate with the investigation.

Rana Kapoor denied allegations

Zain Shroff, lawyer of Rana Kapoor, argued in the court that Kapoor was made a scapegoat due to public outrage against Yes Bank after the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) took action against the bank.

RBI took control of Yes Bank placed it under a moratorium. Also, it put a withdrawal limit of Rs. 50,000 on Yes Bank. RBI is working the revival of Yes Bank. In the meantime, SBI said that it would buy a 49% stake in the beleaguered bank.
