Former Finance Minister And Senior BJP Leader Arun Jaitley Breathed His Last At AIIMS At 66

The latest trending news is Former Finance Minister Arun Jaitley passed away at AIIMS, New Delhi at 12:07 p.m. on Saturday, August 24, 2019. He was admitted to the AIIMS on August 9 and had been on life support since then.

AIIMS statement

The All India Institute for Medical Sciences released a press statement regarding demise of Arun Jaitley. The statement read that he was being treated by a team of multidisciplinary doctors and had been on life support for two weeks. He was 66.

Arun Jaitley illness

Arun Jaitley was suffering from acute diabetic condition. He went for bariatric surgery the correct the weight gain in September 2014 and a kidney transplant in May 14, 2018. He was absent from office since early April 2018 and joined on August 23, 2018 after the renal transplant. Railway Minister Piyush Goyal filed in for him in the Finance Ministry during his absence.

Arun Jaitley was first admitted to AIIMS in May 2019 for regular treatment but he developed serious medical condition of breathlessness and uneasiness in August 9 and was again taken to AIIMS where he breathed his last after remaining on life support for two weeks.

Arun Jaitley’s life

A lawyer by profession, Arun Jaitley was known as the chief trouble-shooter of the government. He became Finance Minister in 2014 Modi government and played a crucial role in pulling the economy out of gloom. He’s survived by wife Sangeeta and son Rohan.

President Ram Nath Kovind, PM Modi and senior government functionaries and leaders from RSS and other parties reached AIIMS to pay their tributes to the Arun Jaitley.
