Former Finance Minister And Senior BJP Leader Arun Jaitley Breathed His Last At AIIMS At 66

The latest trending news is Former Finance Minister Arun Jaitley passed away at AIIMS, New Delhi at 12:07 p.m. on Saturday, August 24, 2019. He was admitted to the AIIMS on August 9 and had been on life support since then.

AIIMS statement

The All India Institute for Medical Sciences released a press statement regarding demise of Arun Jaitley. The statement read that he was being treated by a team of multidisciplinary doctors and had been on life support for two weeks. He was 66.

Arun Jaitley illness

Arun Jaitley was suffering from acute diabetic condition. He went for bariatric surgery the correct the weight gain in September 2014 and a kidney transplant in May 14, 2018. He was absent from office since early April 2018 and joined on August 23, 2018 after the renal transplant. Railway Minister Piyush Goyal filed in for him in the Finance Ministry during his absence.

Arun Jaitley was first admitted to AIIMS in May 2019 for regular treatment but he developed serious medical condition of breathlessness and uneasiness in August 9 and was again taken to AIIMS where he breathed his last after remaining on life support for two weeks.

Arun Jaitley’s life

A lawyer by profession, Arun Jaitley was known as the chief trouble-shooter of the government. He became Finance Minister in 2014 Modi government and played a crucial role in pulling the economy out of gloom. He’s survived by wife Sangeeta and son Rohan.

President Ram Nath Kovind, PM Modi and senior government functionaries and leaders from RSS and other parties reached AIIMS to pay their tributes to the Arun Jaitley.

UAE Honours PM Modi With Order of Zayed Despite Objections From Pakistan

UAE will honour Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi with “Order of Zayed”, the highest civilian award of the country. PM Modi is on three-nation visit – France, UAE and Bahrain. He reached UAE on Friday.

Order of Zyaed

Named after the founding father of Islamic state Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, Order of Zyaed has a special significance especially when the Pakistan is trying to garner support of Islamic countries against India. The award is conferred on the birth centenary of Sheikh Zayed.

UAE on Kashmir

Abu Dhabi becomes the first Islamic country to honour PM Modi after Indian government scrapped Article 370 and 35A. UAE termed Article 370 as an internal matter of India. It also said that the step was aimed at bringing equality in the region.

Narendra Modi reached UAE in his second leg of the three-nation visit and held bilateral talks with the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on regional and international issues. The talks are aimed at deepening relations between the two countries. It is the first engagement of India with UAE after the Indian government reorganized the state of Jammu and Kashmir. PM Modi last visited UAE in February 2018 as the Chief Guest at the World Government Summit.

Pakistan’s rhetoric

Pakistan PM Imran Khan has been urging the world leaders especially the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to boycott India at world forums to force it to undo the Article 370. Where Pakistan Stands In Trade War With India?

Pakistan suspended trade ties with India on the eve of India repealing Article 370 and 35A. But little does the Pakistan know that it stands nowhere in the trade war with India.

United Nations Conference on Trade and Development

The 2018 UN data on bilateral trade between India and Pakistan puts latter at a loss. The total value of Indo-Pak trade is $2.8 billion but a large part of this trade is Indian export to Pakistan. It stands at $2.3 billion. India imports goods worth $500 million from Pakistan.

  1. India is less dependent on Pakistan for exports. Pakistan’s export to India is 1.63% of total exports. But India’s export to Pakistan is a meager 0.73%.
  2. Pakistan is more dependent on India for its imports. 3.9% of its imports are from India but it contributes only 0.09% in Indian import.
  3. Cement is the biggest commodity India imports from Pakistan. It is the only commodity accounting for more than 10% from Pakistan.
  4. Pakistan miserable depends on India for 40 commodities that are set to become expensive in the event of a trade war. India accounts for more than one-fourth of the total import of 17 of the 40 commodities.
  5. India and Pakistan would get hit with trade ban. Exporters of both the countries would have to look for markets for their products.
  6. India accounts for more than 10% of 26 goods in Pakistan. In the event of trade war with India, Pakistani exporters would face a severe crisis. For more information please visit our latest trending News

Air Chief Marshal Will Receive First Set Of 36 Rafale Jets In France On September 20

India will receive the first set of 36 Rafale fighter jets in a government ceremony on September 20. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and Air Chief Marshal B.S. Dhanoawith be there with the top brass of France for the ceremony. Senior officials of Dassault Aviation, the makers of Rafale will also attend the ceremony.

Rafale deal

On September 2016 in Paris, India inked an inter-governmental defense deal with France to buy 36 Rafale fighter jets at a cost of approximately Rs. 58,000 crore. France agreed to complete the deliver of jets in 67 months from the date of contract.

IAF preparing for Rafale jets

The IAF spent around Rs. 400 crore for developing infrastructure for the Rafale jets and on training of pilots. The jets would be stationed in two strategic airbases – Ambala air force station in Punjab and Hasimara base in West Bengal. Both the airbases are being upgraded with new hangers, shelters and maintenance facilities.

India-specific Rafale jets

Dassault is making India-specific jets that includes Israeli helmet-mounted display, 10-hour flight data recording, low band jammers, radar warning receivers and infra-red search and tracking systems.

Test flight

In July 2017, the Air Chief Marshal B.S. Dhanoa flew a Rafale jet at the Saint-Dizier airbase to experience the flight operation of the aircraft during his visit to France.

Corruption charges

US Calls North Korea To Resume Nuclear Talks

Today’s latest trending news is coming from South Korea where the US recently concluded its military exercise with Seoul. The US and South Korea ended their regular military exercise on Tuesday and revealed that it was ready to resume nuclear talks with North Korea.

The US-North Korea stalemate

The top US envoy Stephen Biegun expressed the interest of his country to bring North Korea back to the negotiation table. He told to reporter that they were prepared to engage as soon as they hear from their counterparts in North Korea.

US President Donald Trump met his North Korean counterpart, Kim Jong Un, in Vietnam in February but the meeting yielded no results. It was the second summit between the Washington and Pyongyang. In June, both the leaders met again at the Korean border and decided to resume dialogue at a suitable time. But North Korea has yet to respond to the call.

The US-South Korea military exercise

It was a regular military exercise but North Korea took a very serious note of it and declared the exercise a show of strength and an invasion rehearsal. South Korea took its missiles and weapons to the extreme level during the military exercise with the US.

What Is The Result Of UNSC Closed Consultation On Kashmir?

United Nations Security Council held a “closed consultation” meeting for an informal discussion on the Kashmir situation after India abrogated Article 370 and 35A that awarded special status to Kashmir.

UNSC discussion on Kashmir

The UNSC is yet to make a press note on the discussion and decision taken on Kashmir situation. But the Indian Ambassador to the UN, Syed Akbaruddin made it clear that Pakistan and China were unnecessarily giving undue significance to a matter that belongs to India.

UNSC’s first discussion on J&K

It isn’t the first time that UNSC met to discuss J&K. On January 1, 1948, India approached UNSC to discuss the conflicting situation in Kashmir due to attack by tribal people and camouflaged soldiers of Pakistan. The UN created a commission that asked for a plebiscite in J&K.

Plebiscite in J&K

It never materialized because Pakistan didn’t fulfill the conditions. It had to vacate the area it had captured to hold a plebiscite. India was also asked to withdrew the non-residents from J&K before plebiscite. But Pakistan didn’t fulfill the condition.

Shimla Agreement

On July 2, 1972, India and Pakistan reached an agreement called Shimla Agreement. Under the agreement, both the countries agreed to keep the Kashmir issue at bilateral level and solve it through discussions. But Pakistan kept raining the issue international forums like Islamic Summit that it hosted in 1974.

US President Donald Trump Asks Imran to resolve their issues with Pakistan

After the end of 370 Article related to Kashmir, the tensions between Pakistan and India is serious. Pakistan prime minister, Imran Khan ask for help to USA president Donald Trump. On Friday, the phone conversation between Trump and Khan took place, the white house said.

They also discussed Afghanistan and Khan said, they are doing great efforts to maintain peace in Afghanistan. We made efforts in the past and will continue for the future as well.

Arun Jaitley Admitted To AIIMS For Second Time

Senior BJP leader and former Union Minister Arun Jaitley was admitted to AIIMS in New Delhi on Friday morning for medical checkup. Mr. Jaitley, 66, complained of breathing problem following which he was rushed to AIIMS and admitted to the intensive-care-unit of Cardio-Neuro center of the hospital.

Arun Jaitley’s health

Mr. Jaitley is suffering from diabetes and had a kidney transplant last year but his health remained a concern after the surgery. In February, he visited US for treatment and in May, he was admitted to AIIMS for health issues.

Arun Jaitley wrote to PM Modi that he was suffering from some serious health challenges and that he needed time to get proper treatment. He requested not to be assigned any responsibility in the new government citing health reasons.

Presently he’s getting treatment under the supervision of a multidisciplinary team of doctors and his condition is said to be haemodynamically stable.

Arun Jaitley’s career

Arun Jaitley is a renowned lawyer and a popular leader of BJP. In the party, he’s considered among the chief troubleshooters. In the last Modi government, he was given the responsibility of finance department and Mr. Jaitley successfully steered major economic legislations. Also, he strongly defended policies of the government on the floor of the parliament.
