PM Modi Promises To Stop Water From Flowing To Pakistan In His Poll Promise In Haryana

Prime Minister Narendra Modi took a swipe at Pakistan over the issue of water while addressing a rally in Hisar. He said that he always accomplishes what he decides to do. Pakistan has warned India that any attempt to water flow would be considered an act of aggression.

PM Modi said that his government had plans to invest Rs. 3.5 lakh crore in next five years to make infrastructure to provide water for drinking and irrigation purposes. He said that his emphasis was on to improve water condition under his Jal Jeevan Mission. He said that his government wanted to remove farmer’s reliability on monsoon for irrigation. He addressed two rallies in Gohana and Sonipat and later in Hisar in Haryana.

Modi targeted opposition parties saying that they are busy fighting among themselves. He also said that opposition parties were unable to provide stable government in Haryana. He said that BJP government in Haryana took bold steps to improve the overall condition of people. He patted Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar for the good work done by the BJP government in Haryana.

SpiceJet Flight SG-2 Sent Alarm Bells Ringing In Pakistani Airspace

The Pakistan air force swing into action on seeing Kabul bound commercial flight from New Delhi in its airspace. It pressed to jets into action to escort the commercial out of its airspace.

What was the commotion in Pakistani airspace?

The Pakistani aviation authorities failed to recognize the scheduled commercial flight’s call sign and took a passenger airplane to be a military jet. It was a SpiceJet plane flying from New Delhi to Kabul that entered the Pakistani airspace on a scheduled flight. It all happened amid rising tensions between India and Pakistan on September 23.

What was the incident?

SpiceJet flight SG-2 was flying over Pakistani airspace when the Pak authorities took “SG” to be an Indian Air Force aircraft. And they took no time in sending two F-16 jets to escort the Boeing 737 with 120 passengers on board. The PAF jets could see that it was a commercial flight but they order the plane to come to a low altitude and escorted the plane to Afghanistan airspace.

How did the passengers react on seeing PAF jets?

There was nervousness in the plane. The passengers were frightened on seeing F-16s. They were asked to roll down the widow panes to avoid contact with PAF jets. But nothing untoward happened and the SpiceJet flight exited the Pakistani airspace safely. On return, the same flight was delayed for five hours to complete the paper work and obtain permission of Pak authorities to fly safely from their airspace. The flight didn’t report any untoward incident on return.

AI Flight AI 502 Stranded In Delhi Traffic

Air India passengers had a harrowing time on October 16, Tuesday when they were made to wait for three hours to board a flight. And the reason behind the delay was unavailability of the co-pilot.

Where were the passengers going?

It was Air India flight AI 502 from New Delhi to Bengaluru. The flight was scheduled to take off at 1:30pm but it took off only at 4:20pm. The flight arrived at Bengaluru at 7:08pm.

What was the reason behind the delay in flight?

Air India first sought 30 minutes delay for schedule maintenance of the aircraft but it kept increasing the flying time 30 minutes till 4:20. The company revealed the real reason only after the stranded passengers raised a hue and cry for unexpected delay. They thronged at the Air India office to know about the real reason in delay.

Finally, the AI officials agreed to open their mouth to tell the real reason behind the delay. They passengers were told that the flight crew was waiting for the co-pilot to arrive. It was told that the co-pilot was stranded in traffic of National Capital and that no-one knows when the traffic would be cleared and the co-pilot would reach the airport.

The government is planning to limit the import of palm oil from Malaysia. A discussion held by the commerce and industry ministry suggested restriction over palm oil import on Malaysia. India buys more than 9 million tons of palm oil annually from Malaysia and Indonesia.

How would the import restrictions affect Malaysia?

India imports the largest amount of edible oils and the palm oil accounts for close to two-thirds of its total import of edible oil. In the first nine-months of 2019, India emerged as the biggest buyer of palm oil from Malaysia. India is looking at Indonesia, Argentina and Ukraine for palm oil imports.

But the Malaysian PM said that he hadn’t received any official communication from India regarding restrictions on palm oil import. On the other hand, the Indian government officials are also tight lipped on the import restriction being imposed on Malaysia.

RBI’s capping the withdrawal limit for PMC bank at Rs. 25,000 has affected thousands of PMC bank customers whose money is stuck in the brank fraud and they all are common people.

Mr. Parekh further said that there was no sin in finance bigger than the misuse of the savings of the common people. He revealed his concern about absence of a robust system to protect the honest savings of common people. He stressed that trust and confidence were the backbone of any financial system and the power of ethics and values should be underestimated.

Mr. Parekh admitted that this problem could crop up across the globe. He called for efforts to encourage savings to grow credits. The savings at 30% of GDP is an indication of a declining trend over the past decade. Household savings is important for economy. He was speaking at the opening ceremony of the center of financial studies by B-School SP Jain.

Ravana Effigy Went Into Flames While Setting In Vidhsha, MP

In a freak incident in Vidisha, Madhya Pradesh, an effigy of Ravana burnt to ashes after colliding with electricity powerline. The incident happened just a day before Dusshera celebrations.

How Ravana effigy burnt before Dusshera?

It happened in Sironj area of Vidisha district. At the time of incident, the effigy was being installed at a predetermined place. The authorities were trying to setup the Ravana near a bus stand to celebrate Dusshera when the mannikin hit the 132 KV power line passing over it. Soon the Ravana was in flames and came down heavily in the form of ashes. The persons holding the effigy became mute spectators to the flames.

How tall was Ravana effigy?

It was a 33-feet tall Ravana stuffed with firecrackers of different shapes and sizes. As soon as it touched the high-tension electric line, it burst into flames with the firecrackers setting off the effigy. It was a horrific scene as the area was packed with audience gathered to see the effigy being set for Dusshera festival. Also, there were passerby who stopped hearing the sound of firecrackers. But luckily there was no accident at the site. All the persons working on the Ravana effigy and passerby were safe.

Who was responsible for the Ravana burning incident?

Locals blamed the Sironj Municipality and the authorities for the unfortunate incident. According to locals, the responsible persons should have taken precautionary measures to prevent the collision of the effigy with the powerline. It was a clear negligence on the part of the authorized persons.
