Kim Kardashian West has joined the prestigious Forbes list of 2,775 billionaires only five years after featuring in the magazine for making her first $51 million.

According to Forbes the 40-year-old reality television star, influencer, and business owner worth more than $500 million. Her wealth jumped from $780 million last fall to $1 billion this spring. She had more than $200 million jump just since October last year. Her company KKW Beauty that was launched in 2017 was making about $100 million in revenue.

Her money comes from television, endorsement deals as well as her two lifestyle brands. She also promotes cosmetics in partnership with her sisters. KKW boasts of 69.7 million followers on Twitter and 213 million on Instagram. Her recent project, Skims, launched in 2019, proved to be a lucrative business in the work-from-home era. Skims offers underwear and loungewear in her signature minimalist style.

Four Important Points Of RBI Monetary Policy

Reserve Bank of India (RBI) governor Shaktikanta Das will release the first by-monthly monetary policy statement of fiscal 2022 in a press conference on Wednesday. The statement was prepared by the six-member Monetary Policy Committee (MPC), or the rate-setting panel, headed by Das after three-day marathon meeting could shed light on the following points.

Rate Action & Commentary

A change in policy rates is unlikely to happen but a hike is expected at the end of the current fiscal or the next. Most bankers and economists also want the RBI to support the recovery that has just begun by maintaining the present rates.

Economic Growth

The MPC is unlikely to revise down its FY22 forecast of 105% amid localized lockdowns due to fresh wave of pandemic. But RBI could revise its Q1FY22 forecast of 26.2%. Lead indicators also point to mid sequential moderation in RBI policies.

Inflation

Rising input costs, commodity prices, and sticky core inflation could press RBI to revise its inflation forecast for the Q2FY22. The central bank projected inflation at 5.2-5% in Q1FY22 and 4.3% in the second half in its February policy. According to Madhavi Arora, economist, Emkay Global, there could be little tinkering with inflation forecasts.

Liquidity

While the experts are divided into liquid normalization process of RBI, but there are strong chances that the central bank could start liquidity normalization in the second half of the fiscal. But Sonal Varma and Aurodeep Nandi, economists, Nomura believe that RBI could start the process in mid-2021.

Tim Cook said that he thought that Tesla had done an unbelievable job of establishing and keeping the lead for a long time in the EV space. He didn’t give any hint on buying Tesla but said that they investigated many things internally and many of them never saw the light of day.

On removing Parler from the App store

Tim Cook said that that was a straightforward decision because the app weren’t adhering to the guidelines of the App Store. He said that one couldn’t incite violence or allow people to incite violence. He further said that he hoped that the app would come back.

On social media attack on the Capitol

Tim Cook said that he was deeply worried about the amplification of social media as a targeting tool to spread misinformation or extremist sentiments. For the Capitol attack, he said that it was the darkest day in their history.

On data theft

Tim Cook said that he was appalled by that and for that reason, they came out with things like a privacy nutrition label. He said that they would improve that over time.

VK Sasikala was a resident of Ms Jayalalitha’s Poes Garden residence before the residence was converted into a memorial. She was a voter of the Thousand Lights Assembly constituency of Chennai. But her name was found to be missing from the voters’ list just before the voting day. A senior poll officer denied any conspiracy in that. But VK Sasikala said that it was an injustice to her and that she would take legal action after discussing the matter with her counsel N Raja Senthoor Pandian.

Mr Pandian said that he apprised the Chief Electoral Officer Satyabrata Sahoo of the matter. He further said that the official told him that the deadline for making additions or deleting names from the voters’ list had expired. No Terror Link Found In The US Capitol Attack

US President Joe Biden expressed his grief over the recent US Capitol incident by saying that he and first lady Jill Biden were heartbroken due to the violent attack that killed one police officer and wounded the other.

The president offered his condolences for the slain Officer William Evans of the US Capitol Police. He also offered prayers for the well-being of the officer who’s fighting for his life.

What was the US Capitol attack?

As seen television footage, a blue sedan car crashed at a security barrier on one of the streets leading to Congress. The driver of the car jumped out of the vehicle and rushed towards the officers with a knife but he was shot dead by the officers said Acting Chief Yogananda Pittman.

The accident resulted in the death of an office and left another injured who was taken to a hospital in an air ambulance. The attack came amid heightened security after the January 6 attack by the supporters of then-president Donald Trump.

What was the motive behind the attack?

At first, it was considered a terrorist attack but Washington Metropolitan Police Chief Robert Contee said that he didn’t suspect any terror link in the attack. Also, no information was available about the identification of the attacker or his motive.

But National Guard troops had been mobilized and a lockdown was imposed on the US Capitol. The staff at the huge Capitol complex ordered to stay indoors till the next order.

Road Construction In India Is Now A Guinness World Records

The Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways Nitin Gadkari said that they made three world records in March. The ministry constructed 13,394 km of highways at a pace of 37 km per day in the fiscal year 2020-21 and this pace is a record in itself.

What were the three records made by the road transport and highways ministry?

The minister said that building a 2.5 km 4-lane concrete road within 24 hours was a Guinness World Records. Also, the ministry completed a 1-lane 25-km bitumen Solapur-Bijapur road within the same time.

Patel Infrastructure Ltd. made a world record for laying the highest quantity of concrete on a four-lane highway in 24 hours. The NHAI contractor laid Pavement Quality Concrete (PQC) for a four-lane highway of 2,580 meters within 24 hours. It also laid the highest quantity of concrete (14,613 cubic meters) on the greenfield Delhi-Vadodara-Mumbai 8-lane Expressway in 24 hours.

Hyderabad-based construction company IJM India completed a single lane of the four-lane stretch of 25.54 km in a record time of 18 hours. The stretch was being developed between Solapur-Vijapur (NH 52). Nitin Gadkari said that about 500 contractual workers worked hard for that project.
