Record Sales Of ₹ 3.10 crore Car Lamborghini Urus In India

The Lamborghini Urus became the fastest selling car in the uber-luxury segment in India. Automobili Lamborghini recently added 100th unit to its sale order. Launched in January 2018, Urus is the most affordable Lamborghini model in India.

How 100 sales came for Lamborghini?

The first Urus was sold in September but the sale of the car increased in the coming months as the company sold 50 units in the coming year. Lamborghini continued its journey to sell more Urus even during pandemic time. It sold another 50 units in less than 18 months including the lockdown period. The Italian brand is now looking at 2021 and it hopes adding more sales to its already ascending sales-graph.

The official website of the company states that it will continue working towards near global coverage in 2021. The company is launching satellites that will improve the coverage and speed of its services dramatically in the coming months.

According to Elon Musk, the space based Starlink will double its speed from 150Mbps to 300Mbps this year. It will create a high-speed internet network through 12,000 satellites that it plans launching in the time to come. Presently it has already sent 1,000 satellites in the orbit.

Pod Taxis Will Provide Last Mile Connectivity To Jewar Airport

The Uttar Pradesh government will start “pod taxi” service to connect Greater Noida to the Noida International Airport in Jewar. The Yamuna Expressway and Eastern Peripheral Expressway has been asked to rope in Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) for the project.

What is a “pod taxi”?

Popular in many western countries, a “pod taxi” is a driverless car that can accommodate up to six people comfortably and improve connectivity to remote areas. In 2016, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari launched pilot project for pod taxis at the cost of Rs 800 crore. The taxis would run from Delhi to Gurugram.

Jewar BJP MLA Dhirendra Singh said metro connectivity was available till Greater Noida but Jewar airport was about 25 kilometers from Greater Noida city. Pod taxis were considered to bridge the gap. The MLA further said that pod taxis were a revolutionary mode of transport widely used in western countries. The pod taxi service will be started under PRT – Personal Rapid Transit system.

Who will develop the airport?

Recently the greenfield airport at Jewar was named Noida International Airport. The Yamuna International Airport Private Limited will build and operate the airport. The contract for building and operating the airport for 40 years has been awarded to Zurich Airport International AG (ZAIA). The construction of the airport will complete in four years in the first phase.

The contract was awarded in November 2019 and the Union ministry of home affairs provided security clearance to start work on the airport in May 2020. A new film city is also proposed in Jewar.

PM Modi was wearing a gamcha from Assam and the nurses – Rosamma Anil and P Niveda – who administered the jab were from Kerala and Puducherry respectively. The officials said that the gamcha was symbolic of blessings from the women of Assam.

PM Modi visited AIIMS with no route diversion

Earlier in the day, PM Modi was taken to AIIMS for vaccination but no route diversion was planned for the PM to avoid inconvenience to public. The country started the vaccination drive on January 16 and hopes to vaccinate 30 crore people by August in the second phase that starts on March 1, 2021.

India is the second hardest hit country after the US and it is witnessing a surge in COVID-19 cases in Maharashtra, Kerala, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Punjab.

Russian Diplomats Have A Tough Time In North Korea

Strict coronavirus restrictions forced Russian diplomats to take to hand-pushed rail trolley to take their families back home in Russia from North Korea. It is to be noted that North Korea imposed a stricter border shutdown last January to cut all its connections with the world to contain coronavirus pandemic.

Russia’s foreign ministry’s verified Telegram account posted a video of eight Russian diplomats and their family members including a three-year-old-girl sitting with all their belongings in a hand-pushed rail trolley and waving and cheering on approaching their homeland tells the real story.

The video has the Third Secretary Vladislav Sorokin, the only man in the group, is seen pushing the trolley across a border railway bridge. It was a 32-hour train journey from Pyongyang after which they took a two-hour bus ride to reach the border. Sorokin had to push the non-self-propelled railcar for more than a kilometer.
