What Is Indian Agenda Of High-Level Talks With Chinese Military?

India and China have decided to hold high-level talks in the Indian Border Point Meeting hut in Chushul-Moldo to resolve the standoff at LAC on Ladakh and Sikkim border. Lieutenant General Harinder Singh, Commander of 14 Corps will meet his Chinese counterpart the Commander of the Tibet Military District.

Indian agenda for the high-level talks

According to official sources, India will insist on restoration of the previous state of affairs in all areas of eastern Ladakh. Also, India will oppose the huge build up of Chinese forces in the region and ask China not to oppose infrastructure development on the Indian side.

Chinese military has been obstructing normal patrolling by Indian troops along the Line of Actual Control in Ladakh and Sikkim. Also, it alleged Indian army of trespassing into the Chinese side. SpiceJet Pilot Robbed At Gunpoint In South West Delhi

A SpiceJet pilot was robbed, attacked and left bleeding in middle of the night in South Delhi. The incident happened on a flyover close to the Indian Institute of Technology in Delhi. The pilot called the police after the assailants had fled.

The robbery incident

Yuvraj Tewatia is a flight captain with SpiceJet. He was going to airport at 1 am in his office car when he was intercepted by 10 people. They were on five scooters that they used to block the captain’s car. They were carrying weapons for the robbery. They smashed the car window and one of them hit the captain on head with his pistol.

After broking the car window and hitting the captain, they looted the Rs. 34,000 cash the captain was carrying and other valuables and fled. Again, one of them injured the captain with a knife and left the captain bleeding in his car. It is only after they had fled that the captain made a police complaint.

The pictures of broken car windows with a detailed account of the incident went viral over the social media. It highlighted a grave concern for those involved in providing essential services in COVID-19 lockdown. Similar incidents also said to occurred at the same place.

Police acting on the complaint

A case has been filed with south west Delhi police station but the police officials escaped from giving details about the assailants. Delhi Police spokesperson MS Randhawa said that the police had received the complaint and that matter was under investigation.

Delhi Jolted By 3 Magnitude Quake At 10:42 On Wednesday

A mild earthquake of 3.2 magnitude hit Delhi and adjoining areas at late evening on Wednesday. But the good thing is that no casualties were reported due to the quake.

Delhi witnessed another quake

National Center for Seismology (NCS) the earthquake hit 17 km east of Faridabad in Haryana at 10:42 pm on Wednesday but its tremors were felt across the national capital and the adjoining cities of Noida.

Delhi also experienced a quake earlier in May 29 when an earthquake measuring 4.6 on Richter Scale jolted the entire Delhi-National Capital Region. It occurred at 9 pm in Rohtak, Haryana. Its epicenter was found to be 3.3 km under the earth.

Frequent quakes in Delhi

The national capital has witnessed 6-7 quakes of mild intensity in the last two months. Delhi is already grappling with coronavirus pandemic. In this situation, frequent quakes have become a matter of concern for the authorities.

Experts speak about Delhi quakes

Dr Soumitra Mukherjee, Professor of Geology at Jawaharlal Nehru University said that there was little to worry about those quakes but there was a need to remain vigilant. She said that quakes keep coming in Delhi region because it falls in a seismic zone four.

According to experts, people need not to worry about the tremors measuring up to 4-standard on Richter Scale as they are called mild but quake of 4 and above standards could cause greater harm to the city that is densely populated and most buildings don’t comply with quake measurement rules.
