Court Allows Megan Thee Stallion To Release Music

Megan Thee Stallion said that she was a little worried when she almost couldn’t release her new album due to a dispute with her record label. She was talking to the Associated Press after a Houston judge ordered the Friday release of her album.

Stallion talked about the dispute

The performed posted on social media that she signed a bad contract with Houston-based record label 1501 Certified Entertainment years ago and that she and her management team at Jay-Z’s Roc Nation company tried to renegotiate the contract but it turned into a battle marked by bitter social media exchanges.

The label was accused of not sharing data on Stallion’s music with her management team. And when the performer and her team sought to renegotiate the terms contract, the label started to intimidating and threatening the performer. But the label didn’t reply to the allegations.

Small win for the performer

On Monday, Stallion got a small reprieve from State District Judge Robert Schaffer when the judge barred 1501 from withholding release of her music by issuing an initial temporary restraining order. On Wednesday, the State District Judge Beau Miller denied 1501’s appeal and reaffirmed the order. Also, the judge scheduled hearing on her request for a temporary injunction against the label on March 13.

Stallion decided to sign with Roc Nation

The performer said that Roc Nation was awesome and that they started helping her with stuff even before she officially signed with them. She further said that they helped her enroll into school swiftly.

Lookout Noticed Issued Against Yes Bank Founder Rana Kapoor

On Friday, Enforcement Directorate searched the Mumbai house of Yes bank founder Rana Kapoor. Also, the agency launched a money laundering probe against him. Fearing that Mr. Kapoor and other former directors of the bank could leave the country, the agency issued a lookout notice against them.

The Reserve Bank of India took over board of the bank for 30 days to restructure its finances. Also, it put a cap of Rs. 50,000 on withdrawal for Yes bank customers. The finance ministry said in its notification that the withdrawal cap will remain effective till April 3. RBI has appointed former SBI CFO Prashant Kumar as administrator of the beleaguered Yes Bank.

Union Finance Minister listed malpractices

Nirmala Sitharaman said that malpractices by top leadership of the bank were among the top reasons for centre’s decision to restructure the management of the bank. Ms. Sitharaman, in a press conference, said that RBI had been monitoring Yes bank since 2017.

The RBI noticed serious governance issues with Yes bank. There was a culture of weak compliance. Also, there were wrong asset classifications together with risky credit decisions. Ms. Sitharaman said that RBI started getting clear indications about the said issues before it decided to restructure the Yes bank board.

Law enforcement agencies didn’t rule out malpractices by top leadership. A member even resigned after CBI put pressure. Mr. Rana Kapoor was ordered to step down after his request for extension of his term was turned down by the RBI.

  6. For the first time since 2018, rupee weakened past the 74-per-dollar mark due to plunge in equity markets.
  7. In the US, Wall Street tumbled overnight with shares of banks and travel companies taking a huge hit.

Delhi Police has arrested two folks for the panic calls over Delhi Violence

AAP Suspends Tahir Hussain Until Murder Investigation Completes Against Him

AamAadmi Party (AAP) suspended the primary membership of its leader Tahir Hussain after he was made an accused in the murder of an Intelligence Bureau (IB) employee, Ankit Sharma during Delhi violence.

The party said in a tweet that Tahir Hussain will remain suspended from the party until the murder charges against him are investigated and he is given a clean chit by the police.

He was allegedly attacked by a mob and the post-mortem report indicated that he was stabbed multiple times when he was returning home on Tuesday.His body was recovered on Wednesday. Delhi Violence Draws Criticism From US Lawmakers

The US lawmakers criticized the deadly pro and anti-CAA violence in the Indian capital. It received prominent importance along with the visit of President Donald Trump in the mainstream media.

Eliot Engel, Chairman the House Foreign Affairs Committee saidshe was deeply disturbed by the deaths from the communal violence in India. The committee said that the right to protest was a key aspect in democracy but the protests must remain peaceful and police must ensure safety of all.

Republican lawmaker Don Beyer tweeted that he condemned attacks against Muslims in India and rejected bigotry and religious intolerance. He also said that the US State Department should too condemn the violence.

US Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal said that the deadly surge of intolerance in India was horrifying. She tweeted that democracies shouldn’t tolerate division or promote laws that undermine religious freedom. She further said that world was watching.

Congressman Alan Lowenthal said that the violence was a tragic failure of moral leadership. He urged the lawmakers to speak out against the threats to human rights in India.

Democrat presidential candidate and Senator Elizabeth Warren said that strengthening relations with democratic partners like India was important but they should also speak truthfully about their values including freedom of speech and religious freedom and that violence over peaceful protestation was never acceptable.

Justice Muralidhar Transferred For Criticizing Centre, Delhi Government And Cops

Delhi High Court judge Justice S Muralidharhas been transferred to the Punjab and Haryana High court after he grilled the centre, the state government and the Delhi Police over the handling of Delhi violence that left 32 people dead and over 200 injured.

The protestors were attacking whoever came in their way when Donald Trump was with his family just 15 km away. The protestors attacked public property, vehicles and even police personnel and news reporters.
