Trump Warns Iran Of More Attacks If Latter Takes Revenge

US President Donald Trump warned Iran of more attacks if it even tried to attack the US. He even disclosed the number of sites on the American target in his tweets.

In reply to the revenge threat by Iran, Donald Trump said that Iran would be hit harder than ever before. He said that 52 sites of importance for Iran were under the target and that America would use the latest military equipment to carry out the attack. Trump reminded Iran of the Americans held hostage at the US embassy in Tehran for more than a year in late 1979 and tweeted that 52 represents those Americans.

No threat to homeland security

The US Department of Homeland Security released a bulletin to assure the citizens that there was no specific, credible threat against the homeland. But soon after the bulletin, a group claiming to be linked to Iran posted a message to revenge Soleimani’s death with the Iranian flag on the website of the Federal Depository Library Program.

Democrats stand against Trump

US Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi said that the information given by Trump, a Republican, raised serious doubts over timing, manner, and justification of the strike. The Democrat said that Trump’s provocative military engagement continues to put American forces and allies in danger. Another Democrat Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez called the president a monster.

Hashed warns Iraqi forces

Hashed said that Iraqi forces guarding US installations should quit their posts by Sunday at 5:00 pm local time. The pro-Iran group is up in arms against the US.

The Mahasabha president Swami Chakrapani said that he had heard similar things about former Congress president Rahul Gandhi. He discarded the claim about the physical relationship of Savarkar and Godes as ridiculous and said that Rahul Gandhi was also homosexual.

Shiv Sena replied to the book

Shiv Sena slammed the party over the controversial book that had left many Shiv saniks fuming over the physical relationship remark for Veer Savarkar and Nathuram Godse.

Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut went a step ahead to target Congress-affiliated Seva Dal for questioning Savarkar’s credentials as a patriot. He said that Veer Savarkar was a great man and that the booklet unearthed the dirt in the minds of Congress workers.

But it wasn’t the first time that Shiv Sena showed its displeasure to Congress. Earlier, Rahul Gandhi’s reply to rape comment that he won’t apologize for the comment because he was not Rahul Savarkar had rattled Shiv Sena, the new ally of Congress in Maharashtra.

PM Modi Released 12 Thousand Crore Rupees For 6 Crore Farmers

PM Narendra Modi released the third installment of Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi in Karnataka. He pressed the button from his tablet while addressing a gathering in Tumkur. PM is on a two-day visit to Karnataka. He said that the money has been deposited in the eighth crore farmer of the nation.

He transferred 12 thousand crore rupees in 6 crore farmer families from the rally of Tumkur. Also, he displayed his displeasure at many state governments not implementing PM-KSAN due to politics.

PM Modi said that efforts were made to identify specific products from every block and district and calculate their value. Separate identification of products would increase their export value. He hoped that the states would rise above domestic politics and implement the PM-KSAN scheme.

He said there was a time when a considerable amount of government funding was withdrawn by middlemen. Only 15 paise reached the poor out of every rupee sent by the government. Middlemen used to withdraw 85 paise from that money. But today the money is transferred directly to the bank accounts of needy people.

The Third installment of PM-KSAN

PM released the third installed of PM-KSAN and awarded certificates to the beneficiaries of the scheme from eight states and union territories. He also gave Krishi Samman Awards on this occasion.

Outstanding farmers were awarded the Krishi Karman Award and Citation. Also, PM Modi handed over the keys of deep-sea fishing boats and transporters to selected Tamil Nadu farmers. He assured that his government was doing its best to improve the condition of farmers.

Priyanka Gandhi Accuses UP Police Of Manhandling Her

Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi said that she was manhandled by UP police personnel while she was on her way to meet retire IPS officer SR Darapuri. She took a scooter ride and then walked on foot to reach the residence of the retired IPS officer.

After her cavalcade was stopped from proceeding, Priyanka Gandhi decided to complete the rest of the journey on a scooter driven by a party worker. But she was stopped again. Finally, she decided to go on foot to meet the retired IPS officer who was also a cancer patient.

Police denying charges

Archana Singh was the policewoman in question. She said that she was doing her duty and that the charges levelled against her were untrue. She further said that the Priyanka Gandhi’s cavalcade had to stop because it was diverted from the planned route.

UP government cracks down on rioters

MrDarapuri was taken into custody from his Lucknow home. He was among the 1,113 people arrested different places for rioting. Also, the police have identified 498 people who would be asked to pay for damages to public property.

Delhi Witnesses Coldest Day In The 13-Day Long Cold Spell Since 1901

This is the coldest December for Delhi since 1901, according to the weather office. The national capital has been reeling under a cold spell since December 14. It recorded the lowest temperature 2.4 degree today morning.

Aya Nagar – 1.9 degrees Celsius

Disruptions due to cold weather

The dense fog disrupted rail, road and air traffic to and from Delhi. Presently 24 trains are running late and four flights have been diverted till now. The minimum temperature recorded was 4.2 degrees Celsius that is three notches below normal. The maximum temperature reached was 12.9 degrees Celsius.

Cold spell in Delhi

The cold spell is likely to ease next week but it has already broken all records. The last such spell in Delhi was in 1997. The city witnessed four cold spells after 1992. They were 1997, 1998, 2003 and 2014.

Persistence of cold northwesterly winds in the lower levels over northwest India is making conditions from cold to severely cold in pockets of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, north Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh.

But the lowest temperature was recorded in Himachal Pradesh where temperature reached below sub-zero in Kufri, Manali, Solan, Bhuntar, Sundernagar and Kalpa. These regions recorded minus 15 degrees Celsius temperature. The meteorological department has predicted rain with hailstorm over next weekend.

After Modi, Amit Shah Also Denied Working On Nationwide NRC

Did PM Narendra Modi contradict the December 9 statement of Home Minister Amit Shah in Lok Sabha. Amit Shah said that the government would implement NRC on pan-India basis. But PM Modi denied working on all-India NRC while speaking at Ramlila Maidan in Delhi.

He said that in NRC every individual would be asked to prove his basis for becoming a citizen of this country. He assured that there was no similarity between NRP and NRC and that these two are different laws and couldn’t be used to supplement each-other.

The Union Home Minister accused the opposition of trying to misleading public on NPR because they couldn’t do so on CAA. He said that people had understood what CAA was and what its advantages were. He gave example of Assam where the NRC was first implemented and said that when Assam was silent then why others were protesting.

China Sees Hong Kong Boiling In Support Of Uighurs

Pro-democracy protestors rallied in Hong Kong streets to show solidarity with Uighur minorities in China. They said that their condition was no different than that of Uighurs in mainland China.

But a protestor went ahead and pulled a Chinese flag hoisting over a government building during the rally. This short incident of violence was enough for the riot control police to swing into action to disperse the protestors.

China is facing flak from the world community for keeping over 10 lack Uighurs out of whom most are Muslims in captivity in north-west province Xinjiang. Earlier Beijing used to deny having any Uighur camps but it now says that these camps are vocational training centers for fighting against terrorism.

Hong Kong has kept a close watch over the Uighurs camps in Xinjiang and for this reason, people protesting against the illegal detention of Uighurs have become a common sight in Hong Kong. Sunday rally was also dedicated to support the cause of Uighur Muslims.

More than 1000 people gathered at a square in Hong Kong to listen to the pro-democracy protestors. They said that China would do Xinjiang in Hong Kong. Some protestors were seen holding flags of eastern Turkey in the gathering.

The protestors alleged that they could see Chinese government in Hong Kong. One protestor said that China was suppressing Uighurs in Xinjiang because it had the power. It would the same in Hong Kong once it became powerful.

According to senior BJP leader Vijay Goel, the rally was organized to thank PM Modi for regularizing the unauthorized colonies. He said that over 40 lakh residents of 1,731 colonies would be benefitted with this legislation. He further said that the BJP was in full-swing to win assembly election after winning all 7 Lok Sabha seats of Delhi. It will be PM Modi’s first election rally in Delhi after winning a landslide victory in general election last year. The BJP is hoping to make a comeback in Delhi after two decades.

July 1, 1987 Is The New Cut Off For Citizenship In India

The centre went on an overdrive to dispel fears regarding CAA and the proposed nationwide implementation of National Register of Citizens (NRC). Muslims fear that NRC will strip them of their citizenship and leave stateless.

Ministry of Home Affairs dispelled the fear of NRC

The MHA announced that no individual who was born or whose parents were born in India on or before July 1, 1987 would be considered an illegal immigrant. A senior office from MHA said that people born on or before the prescribed date would be considered Indians under naturalization as per the law.

There was no comment on nationwide implementation of NRC but the official said that there was no similarity between CAA and NRC in Assam because the cut-off date in NRC was 1971. The official said that there was no discussion on nationwide implementation of NRC.

2004 Citizenship Act Amendments

The amendments laid certain conditions for awarding citizenship. People that fulfil the following conditions are considered natural citizens of India.

• Born in the country on or after January 1, 1950 but before July 1, 1987

• Born in India on or after July 1, 1987, but before December 3, 2004, and where either parent is a citizen at the time of birth

• If born in India on or after December 3, 2004, to parents who are citizens or one of the parents is a citizen and the other is not an illegal migrant at the time of birth

IPL 2020 Auction: Australian Players Dominated The Auction With Pat Cummins Getting Rs. 15.50 Crore

Australian players received highest bids in the Indian Premier League (IPL) auction 2020. The fast bowler Pat Cummins got the highest bid of Rs. 15.50 crore by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).

A total of 62 players were auctioned and Pat Cummins was the most expensive player of the auction. He was followed by Glenn Maxwell who was bought by Kings XI Punjab for Rs. 10.75 crore. Piyush Chawla, a leg spinner, was bought by three-time IPL Champions Chennai Super Kings in a surprise buy. He got Rs. 6.75 crore.
