Twitter Inc. said that safety of their employees was a top priority while reaching out to the Union IT Minister for a formal dialogue in response to the non-compliance notice in relation to February 4 order to take down 1,178 listed handles.

What was the government order?

The Indian government asked the social media giant to take down 1,178 listed handles flagged by security agencies as pro-Khalistani accounts or those supported by Pakistan. Operating from foreign soils, these Twitter accounts were sharing misinformation and provocative contents on the ongoing farm issue in India. But Twitter has yet to take a call on this order.

What was Twitter’s response to government?

Twitter said that continued to be engaged with the Government of India from a position of respect and had reached out to the Minister of Electronics and Information Technology for a formal dialogue.

They strongly believe that the open and free exchange of information had a positive global impact and that the Tweets must continue to follow. The company took appropriate steps regarding such concerns as raised by the Government of India while making sure that that it held the fundamental values and commitment to protecting the public conversation.

But Twitter global CEO Jack Dorsey liked several tweets made by foreign based celebrities in support of ongoing farmers’ protest.

The social media giant suspended the list of 257 handles sent by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology in January 31 order. The handles were taken down for a few hours.

Google Will Pay $2.6 Million In Back Pay In Settlement Of Pay Biases

Google has been found guilty of underpaying women and unfairly passing over women and Asians in job openings and the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs has asked the tech giant to $3.8 million that includes $2.6 million in back pay, towards settlement of the allegations.

What are the allegations against Google?

It was found that from 2014 to 2017 Google underpaid 2,783 women employees in its software engineering group in Mount View, California and Seattle area. Also, there were hiring rate differences between disadvantaged women and Asian employees in 2017. They were all software engineers attached to San Francisco, Sunnyvale, California and Kirkland, Washington.

What is the settlement achieved for the allegations?

In settlement, Google is asked to pay $2.6 million to 5,500 employees and review its hiring and salary practices. Also, the tech giant is asked to assign $1.25 million for pay adjustments for engineers working in Mountain View, Kirkland, Seattle and New York over the next five years. Also, the unused funds, if any, will be set aside for diversity efforts at Google.

How did Google react to the settlement?

The first reaction of the tech giant was that it was pleased that the matter had been resolved. Also, it released a statement saying that the company believed that the employees should be paid based upon the work they did and not who they were. It further said that the company would invest to make its hiring and compensation process fair and unbiased.

The video starts with a blue color Safari coming out of a hanger in an aerodrome and starting running on the runway just like an airplane does. Here the Tata Motors want to project the new Safari in a new way. The SUV parks in the mid of airfield and awaits its owner who lands from a chopper.

Exterior

First is the majestic stance of the SUV and then the camera moves towards the chrome studded tri-arrow front grille and then showcases the iconic roof rails with Safari branding. The tyre size is R18 and they come with machined alloys. The man from the chopper sits in the SUV and the camera goes towards the back to show signature twin light LED tail lamps.

Interior

The man sits inside the SUV and fixes the seat showing the boss mode. There are all captain seats for extra comfort. He relaxes on his seat and looks upwards towards the majestic skydome. The SUV moves at a fast pace with its xenon HID projector headlamps on. He parks the SUV in front of his home to take his family out on a long drive where other features of the SUV are highlighted for the viewers.

What Is New In The New Tata Altroz iTurbo?

Tata Motors launched the 2021 variant of Tata Altroz iTurbo model with an introductory price of ₹ 7.73 lakh to ₹ 8.85 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). This premium hatchback car is now available in three iTurbo variants – VT, XZ and XZ+ trim. The XZ+ trim is available in both petrol and diesel variants and it is priced between ₹ 8.25 lakh to ₹ 9.45 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) respectively.

Engine

Tata Altroz iTurbo is powered by a new 1.2-litre, three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine. While similar engine is used for Tata Nexon facelift but the company says that it has made several changes in the engine and the most important change is the iTurbo that stands for intelligence. Paired with a 5-speed manual transmission, the engine produces 108 bhp of raw power and a torque of 140 Nm between 1,500 – 5,500 rpm. The company claims 18.13 kmpl fuel efficiency with this engine. Also, it is claimed to achieve 100 kmph sprint in 11.9 seconds.

Interior

The new iTurbo trims will come with black and light grey interior topped with new perforated leatherette upholstery. On technology side, there will be a 7-inch stick-out display panel, automatic climate control, rain-sensing wipers, cruise control, fast-charging USB port and a cooled glovebox.

Exterior

While the new Tata Altroz iTurbo is nearly identical to the regular model, the company has offered a new Harbour Blue trim for XM+ and upward variants. Similarly, the XZ and XZ+ trims are provided with a contrast black roof. Other features like projector headlamps, glossy black grille and dual-tone alloy wheels will continue with the new trims.
