Cyber Bullying Takes Another Life In South Korea

Hanna Kimura 22, a professional female wrestler who also participated in the popular Japanese reality series “Terrace House” died on Saturday. Her wrestling organization shared and confirmed the news. The organization also said that Hanna Kimura reportedly faced online bullying.

Cause of death of Hanna Kimura

The organization that shared information about her death said that the reasons for her death were unknown. The wrestler turned actor had recently postage messages on social media saying goodbye to her fans. But local media said that her death is related to the online bullying she faced over her remarks and behavior in the reality show.

Terrace House show

Terrace House: Tokyo 2019-2020 was a popular series about six strangers. They all were looking for love and were locked under the same roof. It was a popular show on Netflix. It was also broadcasted by Japan’s Fuji Television.

World Wonder Ring Stardom, a women’s wrestling league in Japan, said in a statement that they were very sorry to report that their Hanna Kimura had passed away. The statement further read urged people to be respectful to allow some time for things to process. The organization also requested people to keep their thoughts and prayers with her family and friends.

Cyberbullying in South Korea

Cases of cyberbullying in South Korea have been on a rise. Recently the news of two female K-pop stars committing suicide due to cyberbullying made headlines. Hanna Kimura also had posted a picture of her and a cat with a caption “I’m sorry” just before her death.
