India Took 1-0 Lead In 3-Match T20l Series With West Indies

Indian skipper played a key role in India’s victory the 1st T20l over West Indies in Hyderabad. Virat Kohli made 94 runs in 50 balls and remained not out. India won the match with six-wickets.

Virat Kohli was man of the match

The score 94 out of 50 balls and not-out is the career best of Virat Kohli. KL Rahul also made 62 off just 40 balls in an impressive inning to help India chase the target of 208 runs in just 20 overs. With this winning, India took a 1-0 lead in the three-match series starting 6th December Friday. The second match of the series would be played on Sunday 8th December in Thiruvananthapuram.

Highest run-chase by India

208 in 20 overs was the highest run-chase by India in T20l match. Earlier India chased the target of 207 against Sri Lanka at Mohali in 2009. It was also a successful chase.

West Indies skipper on the match

Kieron Pollard, captain of West Indies team, said that the battling line of the team did well by scoring 207. Buy he had regrets that his team gave 23 extras. He further said that there were many positives of the match. He said that there was a need to find a way to get over the line and achieve the objective.

Kohli laughed and said that the young batsmen shouldn’t watch the match as he was hitting very hard to chase the score. He said that for him his team comes first and audience second.
