South Africa’s ZozibiniTunzi Crowned Miss Universe 2019 But India’s Vartika Singh Had To Contend With Top 20 Placement

ZozibiniTunzi of South Africa was crowned Miss Universe 2019 at massive competition at Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta. The 26-year old became the third Miss Universe from South Africa after Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters being declared the winner in 2017.

The news was broken to the world through Miss Universe’s official Instagram account. Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray from the Philippines presented The Miss Universe 2019 ZozibiniTunzi with the crown.

ZozibiniTunzi beat more than 90 contestants from the globe to became Miss Universe 2019. Miss India was also one of the contestants. The televised event hosted by American comic-turned-TV personality Steve Harvey.

Miss Puerto Rico Madison Anderson was the first runner-up and the second position was secured by Ashley Alvidrez of Mexico. Contestants from Columbia and Thailand were also in the top 5 participants.

Miss India Vartika Singh secured a place in the top 20 of the world’s biggest beauty pageant but she crashed out.

What did Tunzi say after being crowned?

She said that she grew up in the world women of her skin and hare weren’t considered to be beautiful. She said that she wanted the children to look at her and saw her face. She further said that she wanted the children saw their faces reflected in her.

Tunzi said that the Miss Universe platform had become amazing as it was getting voice people were passionate about. She said that she had voice but it was Miss Universe platform that allowed to amplify her voice.
