How Is Hollywood Dealing With Revenue Losses?

Hollywood witnessed a huge loss in business and profit due to pandemic. Many big films including Mission: Impossible 7 and Red Notice of Dwayne Johnson got paused due to health concerns. The loss of entertainment industry is calculated to be over $1 billion.

Here’s the list of events impacted by the pandemic

Broadway

New York City’s Broadway announced suspension of all activities on March and continued the suspension throughout the year. In October, the Broadway League made another announcement about continuing with suspension through May 2021.

‘Mean Girls’ on Broadway

The musical group said good buy through its Twitter handle on January 7, 2021. It said that it was time to say good bye for the love and praises the group received from audience. But the group promised a national tour and film adaptation of the group.

Candyman

The pandemic forced Universal Pictures to push the October 16 debut of Candyman to an unknown date in 2021.

New York Comic-Con

Producer ReedPop made a heartfelt announcement about moving the show to YouTube from October 8-11 due to the pandemic effect. Earlier the show was planned at Javits Center.

Spider-Man 3

The release date of Tom Holland threequel is pushed one month ahead from November to December 2021.

Top Gun: Maverick

Tom Cruise is facing the heat with his blockbuster movies including Mission: Impossible 7 and 8 getting delayed. But it isn’t the end as his Top Gun: Maverick is also delayed to July 2021. The movie was expected to be released in June 2020.
