Women are dominating every field but some women are simple outstanding due to their achievements against all odds. Here’re 11 such women that dominated fields that are hitherto dominated by men.

First Black engineer in NASA, Mary Jackson advocated for equity in the discipline that white men have dominated historically. NASA renamed its Washington, DC headquarters after Mary W. Jackson to honor its woman engineer. She received this honor posthumously.

Claire Polosak

She became the first woman umpire to officiate in a men’s ODI and in a men’s Test. She was an umpire in India vs Australia first Test in Sydney.

Bhawana Kanth

Flight lieutenant Bhawana Kanth became the first woman fighter pilot to take part in R-Day parade. She showcased mock-ups of the light combat aircraft, light combat helicopter and the Sukhoi-30 fighter plane on Indian Air Force’s (IAF’s) tableau.

Chloé Zhao

She became the first Asian woman, after nearly 80 years, to win the Best Director Golden Globe for directing Nomadland. Also, she’s the first Asian woman to be nominated for the prestigious award.
