Canada’s Brookfield Tops The List Of Forbes Global 2000 List For 2020

Forecast for real estate market

Experts believe that the realty market will take months to recover. Even the strongest sectors like warehouses and shops and hospitality sector requires from 12 to 36 months in recovering. But some largest property owners of the world have big plans to make a comeback.

Brookfield making a huge investment

In early May, Brookfield Asset Management announced that it was mulling to invest $5 billion in realty. It owns 152 million sq. ft. of retail space and approximately 300 million of space including apartments, hotels and offices. The company said that it was looking for partners that can draw on its capital and expertise to stabilize and grow Brookfield’s business.

Last year, Brookfield Asset Management made most assets ($324 billion), accrued highest revenues ($69 billion), reported second-highest profit ($2.8 billion) and became the fourth-highest market cap ($51 billion). And with these figures, Brookfield became the biggest public real estate investment company on the planet for 2020. And it has been retaining the top position for three years now. 

Realty companies on the recovery path

Equity Residential delayed rent increase and stopped eviction for 90 days starting March. Simon said that it planned opening at least 100 malls by May 15 and Prologis offered deep cleaning and a reopening checklist to those who want to comeback.

Elephant Toothpaste is a foamy substance resulting in a chemical reaction between hydrogen peroxide and potassium iodide or yeast with warm water as a catalyst. But it resembles toothpaste being squeezed from a tube.

Popular science experiment

Also known as the “marshmallow experiment”, it is a popular experiment for kids to perform in schools and parties. Hydrogen peroxide decomposes after coming into contact with potassium iodide or yeast with warm water. While decomposing, it breaks down into hydrogen and water. The oxygen pushes the solution out of the container. 

Bubbles are formed when oxygen is trapped in the soap particles and the trapped oxygen forms a huge amount of foam that looks like a toothpaste being squeezed from a tube. Color is added to give it a dramatic effect. It is an exothermic reaction hence the foam produced is hot.

Precautions

The foam that oozes out from the bottle in which the chemicals are mixed is too hot to touch hence shouldn’t be touched until it cools down. Children can do this experiment but only under the supervision of their guardians.

Coronavirus: Why The World Is Scared Of This Virus Outbreak?

The latest tally of coronavirus is 106 fatalities and over 4,000 infected worldwide. But the good thing is that the world has come together to contain the spread of the deadly virus. 

In India, the Union Health Ministry has already sounded alert at international airports and has asked its officials to do a thermal screening of those coming from China. Several cases of coronavirus from Delhi, Mumbai and other states have been reported.

UK has been celebrating All Saints’ Day for centuries. Historians coincide the festival with the ancient Celtic festival Samhain that is considered the inspiration behind modern Halloween celebrations.

What is All Saints’ Day?

It is a tradition of honouring the all known and unknown religious saints’ throughout the history of Christianity. The root of the festival can be traced back to the 4th Century but it developed into a festival only 7th Century when Pope Boniface IVincluded all martyrs in the commemorations. 

In earlier times, All Saints’ Day was celebrated in the month of April but the date was changed to coincide with Halloween in the mid-9th Century. Google News is now bilingual. It is good news for people who speak two or more languages. There are over 60% of such newsreaders worldwide. This feature provides freedom from switching between different languages in order to get news covered elsewhere. 

Who is the beneficiary from this feature?

People who have moved abroad for study or work will be the biggest beneficiaries of this service. They would get international as well as local news from same page. Arvind Kejriwal Says Delhi -“A Gas-Chamber” Closes Schools Till November 5 And Distributes Breathing Masks

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that the capital had become a gas-chamber and blamed the stubble burning in the neighbouring states of Haryana and Punjab for the deteriorating air quality index of Delhi.

What did Kejriwal say on Delhi Pollution?

Delhi CM squarely blamed the state governments of Haryana and Punjab for Delhi pollution. He said that the Haryana and Punjab governments are forcing farmers to burn stubble that is causing the Delhi pollution to rise to dangerous level. He made strong comments on rising pollution level of the city while distributing breathing masks to school children.

Arvind Kejriwal took Delhi pollution to Twitter

He didn’t stop at criticizing the governments of neighbouring states on the ground and took to social media to write strongly-worded posts to highlight the plight of Delhi residents especially the school children that have to breath-in pollutants in the early hours when the pollution is at its peak. 

He asked school children to write to Captain Uncle and Khattar Uncle to think about their health. The Kejriwal government started distributing breathing masks to school children through private and government schools. He distributed 50 lakh masks in Delhi schools and asked all Delhiites to wear masks while going out.

There is a public health emergency in the Delhi-NCR region due to pollution level entering “severe plus”. The Delhi government has closed all schools till November 5. Also, the construction activity and bursting of firecrackers banned in the city.

Terminator: Dark Fate is the sixth instalment of the Terminator series that began in 1984 with Arnold Schwarzenegger playing the lead role. The aging actor has also a role in the sixth series because no series would complete without the Terminator of all Terminators.

Story

The apocalypse that was thought to have been averted is on its way but it has been modified lightly to suit to the sixth instalment. The story starts from August 29, 1997 just three years after defeating T-1000. Sara Connor is heard saying that she knew that it would happen. In the next scene, Sara is seen sitting with her teenage son John on beach in Guatemala. Suddenly a T-800 Terminator arrives and kills John. Twenty-two years later in Mexico City, an auto worker meets the same fate at the hands of Terminator Rev 9. The auto worker, Daniella Ramos, is caught unaware by the attack but saved by Grace, a human resistance fighter with cybernetic enhancements.

Highlights of the movie

  • The story relies on the same premise of a killing machine hunting people
  • The chase of Terminator is made more interesting than the actual climax fight
  • Mackenzie Davis looks impressive in the role of a muscular, agile, gender-fluid super soldier
  • James Cameron and his magnetic leading lady Linda Hamilton are brought in the movie
  • Arnold Schwarzenegger is back and an evolved machine. He’s Carl and he looks fit and younger in this role

Visually, the movie is made spectacular with brilliant visual effects after all it is all about karma and karmic connections. Overall, the movie is an enjoyable fare but the viewers would miss the magic touch of Cameron.
