It was a spectacular Sunday night show by Salman Khan and veteran actor Dharmendra who was one of the important guests at the finale. Both the actors recreated dialogues from the epic movie Sholay on the stage. Later Salman Khan gave a stunning performance on Garmi, Saaki Saaki and Dilbar redux. The actor was joined by former Bigg Boss contestant Nora Fatehi on the dance floor. Later all the feminists performed on the floor but the most stunning performance was of the winner Rubina Dilaik and runner-up Rahul Vaidya.

Rubina Dilaik, Rahul Vaidya, Aly Goni, Nikki Tamboli and Rakhi Sawant were the strong contestants for the trophy and they impressed the audiences with their performance that included many challenges like dealing with different people from all walks of life. WHO Gives Strict Warning On Novel Coronavirus

The World Health Organization warned the world that the novel coronavirus might never go away. Michael Ryan, the emergencies director of WHO said that the world had a new virus for the first time and therefore it was very difficult to predict when the world would prevail over it.

While speaking to the media in a virtual conference in Geneva, the director gave example of HIV and said that it didn’t go away and that the world had come to terms with that virus. Indian Economy Got 20 Lack Crore Boost

Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a mega economic package in addition to giving hits at Lockdown 4 in his Tuesday night address to the nation. The Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will give more details about the financial package in the coming days.

Highlights of the PM’s speech

• Announcement of 20 lack crore package for all sectors. A task force under the leadership of Finance Minister is studying the economic fallout of the pandemic. And it will soon come out with a solution.

• The 20 lack crore package also includes the 1.7 lack crore announced in March. The fiscal package is 10% of India’s GDP.

• It is said that the fiscal package is inspired by the 30-billion-pound fiscal stimulus announced by UK government.

• The PM said that the fiscal stimulus was aimed to lessen the financial burden of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME).

• The government will allow paying wages for the firms that retained their labor force throughout the lockdown period.

• The PM mentioned that the package would focus on land, labor, liquidity and law. It would help small businesses and farmers.

• The PM also included well-being of the migrant workers in his speech and said that the financial stimulus would be a real help for the workers.

• Lockdown 4 will start on May 18 but this time there will be more relaxation for the areas that are almost free from the virus. It is to be noted that lockdown has brought the economy to a grinding halt.

PM Hints Lockdown To Stay Post May 17

Prime Minister Narendra Modi hinted that the nationwide lockdown could be extended beyond May 17 but with some relaxation. Yesterday, he had a meeting with chief ministers over video conferencing where he asked the CMs to send their suggestions on easily lockdown by May 15.

The meeting concluded with CMs getting time to give their suggestions as many states want to resume economic activities after a long lockdown. But at the same time, they agreed to keep certain areas under restrictions as the cases of novel coronavirus aren’t showing any sign of easing.

Exit formula for lockdown

There is no clear strategy on easing restrictions but it is agreed upon that the lockdown will be lifted in a phased manner with restrictions lifting one by one depending on the number of cases coming from different areas.

The lockdown 1 stopped all activities across the length and breadth of the country but some restrictions were eased in lockdown 2. The lockdown 3 saw more freedom in certain areas. But the time isn’t ripened to life the lockdown completely. The states will give their suggestions on easing out the lockdown.

Coronavirus in India

In India, the number of COVID-19 patients have crossed 67,000 mark on Monday and it is expected to increase in the coming days. AIIMS director Dr. Randeep Guleria had already said that the peak of coronavirus had yet to come. According to him, the coronavirus peak would come in June or July.

First COVID-19 Vaccine: Present Status Of Potential COVID-19 Vaccines

Good news about potential COVID-19 vaccines have started pouring in from different regions after 2,58,344 deaths and 3.66 million positive cases. • Jenner Institute in Oxford University is working on a potential vaccine – ChAdOx1 nCoV-19. Clinical trial on human volunteers has started on April 23. The vaccine contains a strain of common cold virus and the scientists have taken the genetic material of novel coronavirus to make the vaccine work.

• India is experimenting with plasma therapy that provides passive immunity to COVID-19 patients. Plasma from the blood of a patient recovered from coronavirus infection is taken for treatment. The seriously ill patients are provided the therapy and it is showing good signs. But India is yet to announce any breakthrough in plasma therapy because it carries the risk of life-threatening transfusion related complications.

COVID- 19 Vaccine: Human Trial Starts Today

University of Oxford will start human trial of its coronavirus vaccine from April 23 according to UK Secretary of State for Health and Social Care Matt Hancock. The official said that the government had thrown everything at developing a vaccine.

Coronavirus vaccine

Presently, the universities of Oxford and Imperial College are working on developing a potential coronavirus vaccine in UK. Matt Hancock said that he could announce that the vaccine from the Oxford project would be trialed on people from April 23. He further said that it would take years to achieve this stage in normal times but he was very proud of the work taken that far. Hancock was speaking in a press conference that was later broadcasted on Twitter.

Coronavirus vaccine fund

The UK government had allocated GBP 44.5 million (Rs. 420 crore) to both the universities working on coronavirus vaccine. The allocated fund would be used for clinical trails that ad been making rapid progress, added the secretary. He further said that the government was ready to fund manufacturing of the vaccine.

In case, either of the vaccine works safely, the government will pump finance in manufacturing to boost production and made the vaccines available for UK citizens as humanely as possible.

According to data shared by the UK Department of Health and Social Care, the country had 129,044 confirm cases of COVID-19 since the outbreak of the pandemic. The number of deaths due to coronavirus were 17,337 till Tuesday.

Centre Says No Flights Until Next Order

Hours after Air India announced booking of flights on selected domestic and international routes from May 4 and June 1 respectively, the government said that no decision on opening air travel was taken.

Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said in a tweet the ministry clarified that no decision had been taken to open domestic or international flights and that airlines were advised to accept bookings only after a decision in that regard had been taken by the government.

Earlier the state-run career Air India that it wasn’t taking any booking for domestic flights till May 3, the last day of extended lockdown. Also, Air India denied booking tickets for international flights till May 31. It said on its website that the situation was being constantly reviewed and they would keep the travellers updated.

Air India planes had been in cargo duties on domestic as well as international routes including Chia that was the epicentre of novel coronavirus pandemic.

On Friday morning, Air India B-787 aircraft left for Guangzhou In China from New Delhi. The flight was carrying medical supplies from China. On Wednesday, Air India said that it carried 170 tonnes of medical supplies for COVID-19 from Shanghai and Hong Kong in one day.

Flights in lockdown

Only cargo flights are operating in the country. According to Civil Aviation Ministry, these are “Lifeline Udan” flights and they are being operated to transport essential medical cargo to remote areas of the country. Till date a total of 227 flights have transported 407.40 tons of cargo.
