Michael Vaughan Tweets That Indian Team Can Only Challenge Aussies On Their Soil
Former England captain Michael Vaughan believes that it is only India that can compete with Australian team on its home ground situation. His opinion came after the Aussies secured a 1-0 lead against New Zealand in the three-match Test series at home.
Aussies vs Kiwis Test match
Australia took lead of 417 runs on Day 3 of the first Test at Perth Stadium in Saturday. Aussies have already thrashed Pakistan by 2-0 in the recently concluded two Test series at home. They are in a dominant position in the first Test against Kiwis and the Aussies seem to be determined to win the second Test.
The Englishman started a series of tweets on India vs Australia
Michael Vaughan said that Indian team had the tools to compete Down Under against Tim Paine’s side. But for New Zealand skipper Brendon McCullum lost no time in responding to his tweet. McCullum said that return of Trent Boult would bring the Kiwis back to the game. But McCullum admitted that the Kiwis were losing the first Test.
Former Australian opener Mark Waugh responded to McCullum by saying that lack of a quality spinner would blunt the Kiwi attack in the nest two Tests.
India’s performance in cricket
Indian team has been on a winning spree in 2019 by winning seven out of eight Tests it played this year. Last time, when India visited Australia, it made history by winning the first Test series on Australian soil. It is what made the Englishman post a tween in India’s favour.
