Barcelona V/s Huesca Was A Record Setting Match For Lionel Messi

Lionel Messi emerged as the star player for Barcelona in the Monday match against Huesca. He was part of Ronald Koeman’s starting XI but Koeman was proud of Messi and he even praised him for his game.

Barca won the Monday match with Huesca with a decent 4-1 score that helped Barcelona reach a little closer to the La Liga leaders Atletico Madrid. At 59 point, Barca is now four points behind Atletico. Also, it is the only unbeaten team in league play in Europe’s top-five leagues since 2021 began.

For Lionel Messi, it was a night of setting records. He scored two crucial goals to in the 13th and 90th minute. His first goal in the match was his 20th in the La Liga in his 13th season. With this goal, he became the first player in Europe’s top five leagues to accomplish the feat.

Lionel Messi set another record of appearing in all competitions for the club with Barcelona legend Xavi at 767. Also, he got many appreciations and praises from his manager Ronald Koeman who even went to the length of thanking god for Messi was with them.

Ronald Koeman said that Messi was the most important person in Barca’s history and he thanked goodness that Messi was them. Francisco Trincao Led Barcelona To Victory Against Red Betis

Barcelona won its sixth league games on Sunday by beating Real Betis with 3-2 score in a striking show of football by Lionel Messi and Francisco Trincao who was the real hero of the game. Earlier on Wednesday in Copa del Rey quarter-final tie match, Barcelona beat Grenada in an impressive win of 5-3 in extra time. It now stands with 43 points just 7 points behind Atletico Madrid that still has two games remaining.

Trincao shot his first goal for the club and snatched victory in 87th minute into the game. It was his 17th appearance in all competitions. He smashed that shot from inside the box to ensure victory for his club.

After the victory, he praised his teammates while talking to reporters. He said that his team had always encouraged him and that they congratulated him on the goal. He further said that he didn’t need to score for his own good, but players had to help their teams when they can. Also, that he was happy that they managed to win the match.

It was a tough match for Barcelona

The match didn’t start well for Barcelona as the defender Ronaldo Araujo injured his ankle in the 12th minute of the game and had to retire to the pavilion. The coach Ronald Koeman sent De Jong at the centreback.

Koeman said that they were little fearful in the first half as they didn’t take risks, but they changed their attitude in the second half and it proved fruitful for the team.

Barcelona’s Contract With Braithwaite Raises Eyebrows In The Football World

FC Barcelona’s signing of Martin Braithwaite is the most unlikely event of the European football season. On Thursday, Barcelona signed the 20-year old Danish forward from La Liga rivals Leganes.

Barcelona triggered a $19.4 million release clause in the Leganes contract of Braithwaite to sign the player. But it also put $324 million release clause on his Barcelona contract. The release clause is used to discourage rival teams from approaching players. But the clause inserted by Barcelona is the highest by any Spanish club.

Special emergency dispensation for Barcelona

Spanish football bosses gave special emergency dispensation to Barcelona for finding a replacement of forward Ousmane Dembele when he took six-moths leave due to a hamstring injury. The emergency window was provided for January.

But Leganes are opposing this transfer because the club loses one of the most important players. According to Leganes director general Martin Ortega, they were in a situation of serious damage.

Martin Braithwaite new contract

The player has signed four-year deal with FC Barcelona. He will play until 2024. But it isn’t the first time that Braithwaite signed a deal. He had been previously associated with Esbjerg in his Denmark, French club Toulouse and Middlesbrough in England.

Braithwaite has been a fantastic player throughout his career as he scored six goals in 24 league appearances for Leganes. Also, he played 39 matches for the Denmark national team.

FC Barcelona presently stands second in the La Liga table. It would play its next match with Eibar on Saturday, February 22.
