Euro 2020: Gareth Southgate Was All Praise For Scotland For The Draw Against England

The Friday match at Wembley between England and Scotland drew no results and both the teams had to satisfy with a 0-0 draw. While Scotland was happy with its performance, the English team and especially their manager were the most disappointed at the results.

Gareth Southgate gave a strong reaction soon after the match….

It was a frustrating night said Southgate, manager of the English football team. He stressed that they knew they could play better. Also, he admitted that Scotland should be given credit for the game as they defended the English attack valiantly and played well. But he uses strong words for his team. He said that they didn’t do enough to win the game. And that it was a disappointment for their supporters especially.

Where had Harry Kane been throughout the game….

Harry Kane lacked the spirit and the edge needed to puncture the defense of Scotland. England dominated possession but it was Scotland that had more shots on goal and some of the shots were close to turning into goals.

Jordan Pickford saved a clear shot at the goal by Stephen O’Donnell and Reece James had to rush to clear a shot by Lyndon Dykes to prevent a goal. They were the moments when Scotland proved their capability.

Harry Kane was replaced with Marcus Rashford with only 19 minutes remaining for the game. And it was a desperate effort by Gareth Southgate to win the match and seal their progress to the knockout stage of the competition. But it didn’t happen.

India will play its third test against England at Motera Stadium, Ahmedabad. India is playing 4-test series with England. The first two matches of the series were played in M. A. Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai. India lost the first test but won the second match with 317 runs.

It is a newly built stadium and it is the first match of the stadium. It will be a day-night match played with a pink ball. The stadium has a capacity of over 110,000 audiences.

How is the pitch at Motera Stadium?

The pitch is expected to help fast bowlers as the match will be played with a pink ball and curators leave much grass on the pitch to maintain shine of the ball. Also, dew could play a crucial role in giving speed to ball. Since it is a day-night match, dew is expected to be on the pitch late in the evening. Curators have cleaned the pitch a day before the match.

How is the environment in Ahmedabad?

The match will start at 2:30 PM but then the temperature could be around 33-34 degree celsius. But it could drop to 27 degree by 10 PM. According to experts, the temperature change in late evening will bring a change in the match a well.
