IPL 2020 Auction: Australian Players Dominated The Auction With Pat Cummins Getting Rs. 15.50 Crore

Australian players received highest bids in the Indian Premier League (IPL) auction 2020. The fast bowler Pat Cummins got the highest bid of Rs. 15.50 crore by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).

A total of 62 players were auctioned and Pat Cummins was the most expensive player of the auction. He was followed by Glenn Maxwell who was bought by Kings XI Punjab for Rs. 10.75 crore. Piyush Chawla, a leg spinner, was bought by three-time IPL Champions Chennai Super Kings in a surprise buy. He got Rs. 6.75 crore.

Chennai Super Kings

CSK retained its core squad but added four bowling options including the leg spinner Piyush Chawla and English all-rounder Sam Curran to the team.

Delhi Capitals

This season, DC invested heavily on big-hitters. They spent Rs. 7.75 crore on ShimronHetmyer and bought Marcus Stoinis for Rs. 4.80 crore.

Kings XI Punjab

In addition to spending Rs. 10.75 crore on Glenn Maxwell, Punjab also invested on the West Indies fast bowler Sheldon Cottrell. He was paid Rs. 8.50 crore.

Kolkata Knight Riders

KKR spent the maximum amount in the IPL auction. They bought Pat Cummins at Rs. 15.50 crore but they didn’t stop and continued adding more firepower to their squad. They also bought England captain Eoin Morgan.

Mumbai Indians

The defending champions Mumbai Indians added Coulter-Nile for Rs. 8 crore and Chris Lynn, who scored heavily in the T10 League, for Rs. 2 crore.

Rajasthan Royals

The Royals are always after youngsters. This season, they picked Mumbai’s Yashasvi Jaiswal for Rs 2.40 crore.Robin Uthappa and Jaydev Unadkat are also with Royals.
