Ri Sol Ju, wife of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, broke all speculations about her absence by appearing a at a musical performance for the anniversary of the birth of former leader Kim Jong Il. It is known as the Day of the Shining Star in North Korea.

The official news agency of North Korea, KCNA, said that the crowd cheered to welcome Ri Sol Ju with the General Secretary. There was thunderous applause in the auditorium and the couple were treated with songs like “People Are of a Single Mind”. Also, newspapers published pictures of the couple on their front pages.

Speculation about Ri Sol Ju’s absence

The year long absence of Ri Sol Ju from state media fueled doubts about her health due to coronavirus. But her re-appearance suggested increased regime confidence in the quarantine situation of the country, said Rachel Minyoung Lee, an independent political analyst and one-time associate of US in relation to North Korea.

But South Korea’s spy agency gave a different reason. It said that Ri Sol Ju could have been taking care of their children to avoid exposure to the pandemic. The agency also said that North Korea hacked Pfizer Inc. to draw information on its COVID-19 vaccine program and treatment.

Ri Sol Ju’s life so far

Ri started as a cheerleader in a North Korean cheer leading squad and went on to marrying Kim Jong Un in 2009. The couple are expected to have three children, but there’s no official word about their kids.

US Reports Sighting Of Kim Jong Un’s Train Amid His Health Rumours

A Washington-based North Korea monitoring project, 38 North,spotted a special train possibly belonging to North Korean leader Kim Jong Un at a resort town in the country. The train was parked the “leadership station” in Wonsan on April 21 and 23. But Reuters is yet to confirm presence of Kim Jong Un at the reported place.

The report said that the train sighting had nothing to do with the health of Kin Jong Un but it was about his whereabouts. He could be in an elite area on eastern cost of the country. 38 North has been tracking Kim Jong Un since reports about his ill health started emerging. According to media reports of North Korea, the leader was last seen presiding over a meeting on April 11.

Health of Kim Jong Un

Speculation of his health first emerged when he missed the celebrations of the birth anniversary of his grandfather and founding father of North Korea, Kim II Sung on April 15. According to an unnamed source, he had undergone medical treatment in the resort county of Hyangsan north of the capital Pyongyang.

The report said that the leader was recovering after undergoing a cardiovascular procedure. The entire world is concerned about his ill health because North Korea has no successor of Kim Jong Un and the country is aggressively pursuing weaponization of nuclear arms. Recently China sent a team of medical experts to North Korea to help Kim Jon Un.

The US intelligence agencies have unconfirmed reports that the North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un isn’t doing well due to deteriorating health post a recent surgery.

April 15 is the most important day in North Korea. On this day, the entire country celebrates the birth anniversary of Kim II Sung. And according to a report, this day is celebrated without any official mention of Kim Jong-Un’s movements. But his absence in the celebrations sparked speculations about his health.

Absence of Kim Jong II in 2008

In 2008, when the country was celebrating 60th anniversary of North Korea, Kim Jong II was nowhere to be seen. His absence fuelled speculations about his health. Later it was revealed that he had a stroke. But his health continued to decline until he died in 2011.

According to a research scholar and an official, if Kim Jung-Un was hospitalised, it would be mentioned in a report. Also, the official said that there had been a number of false rumours about the health of Kim Jung-Un over the years.

There is no official word from anywhere about the health condition of the supreme North Korean leader Kim Jung-Un.
