King Charles III appointed Prince William as Colonel of the Welsh Guards, a prestigious position he previously held for 47 years. Princess Kate will move into the position of Colonel of the Irish Guards, which Prince William held for a decade.

Queen Consort Camilla is now Colonel of the Grenadier Guards, a position previously held by Prince Andrew. He was removed from the position due to his controversial association with Jeffrey Epstein, a convicted child abuser.

King Charles III Greets President Murmu Ahead Of Queen’s Funeral

President Droupadi Murmu paid tributes to Queen Elizabeth II at Westminister Hall in London and met Kind Charles III ahead of the state funeral of the Queen on Monday 19. She is on an official tour to London from 17 to 19 September.

The President arrived at Gatwick Airport in London on 17 September. The High Commissioner of India to the United Kingdom received the President at the airport. From there she left for the hotel to start her tour.

President Murmu visited the Lancaster House near Buckingham Palace in London and signed the condolences book for Queen Elizabeth II. Rashtrapati Bhawan also tweeted about the President signing the condolences book.

The President also visited Westminster Hall in London where the queen’s coffin is lying-in-state and offered condolences on behalf of the whole country. India also observed one-day state mourning on September 11 as a mark of respect to Queen Elizabeth II.

She also met King Charles III at Buckingham Palace during a state reception. She will attend the state honours at Westminster Abbey on 19 September. The funeral service will be held at West Gate of Westminster Abbey.
