Choked – Paisa Bolta Hai: Anurag Kashyap Clogged The Movie With Many Voices

Director Anurag Kashyap has tried his best to make his Netflix original film Choked – Paisa Bolta Hai as close to reality as possible. Inspired by the demonetisation drive of 2016, the story revolves around the lives middle-class families living in four-storey building in Mumbai.

Story

Sushant (Roshan Mathew) is a struggling musician who lives in a Mumbai apartment with his banker wife Sarit (Saiyami Kher) and son Sameer (Parthveer Shukla).

Sushant is jobless and is in debt. His wife Sarit who works in a cooperative bank has to bear the financial burden of meeting needs of the family of three. Their story reflects of the life of a typical middle-class family struggling to survive in tough situations like posed by demonetisation. Sushant has some debts to pay but the responsibility of his debts lies on his wife as he is jobless. Also, they are unable to pay attention to the upbringing of their son due to their financial worries.
