Congress Leader Shatrughan Sinha Meets Pakistan President In A Lahore Wedding

On Saturday, Congress leader Shatrughan Sinha met Pakistan President ArifAlvi during his visit to Lahore. The two leaders discuss Indo-Pak relations but Sinha said that no politics was discussed.

The actor turned politician was in Lahore to attend a wedding. He was there on the invitation of Pakistani businessman MianAsad Ehsan. It was wedding of the daughter of Ehsan where Shatrughan Sinha was invited. According to Sinha, it was a personal visit to a family friend and there was no official or political about the visit.

Sinha meets ArifAlvi

Sinha met Pakistani President ArifAlvi at the Governor House and both the leaders discussed Kashmir among other matters of interest according to a statement from the office of ArifAlvi.

A report on the meeting of the two leaders said that both the leaders felt the need to work for the peace in the subcontinent. Mr. Sinha gave details of the meeting in a series of tweets. He said they discussed many things on social and culturual issues.

The Congress leader said that his friends, well-wishers and media should know that one shouldn’t discuss politics or policies of countries on foreign soil when the person wasn’t competent or authorized to speak on behalf of the government.

Pakistan President ArifAlvi tweeted

ArifAlvi said that the Congress leaders had endorsed the concerns of Pakistan about the restrictions in Kashmir placed after abrogation of spcial status of Jammu and Kashmir and detention of political leaders of Kashmir.

2019 Pulwama Attack: Revising Pulwama On First Anniversary

On 14th February 2019, a vehicle-borne suicide bomber attacked a convoy of vehicles carrying security personnel in Lethpora in the Pulwama district in Jammu and Kashmir. Planned by a Pakistan-based Islamist group Jaish-e-Mohammed, the attack claimed lives 40 personnel of security forces.

Attack

Over 2,500 personnel from Central Reserve Police Force were traveling in a convoy of 78 vehicles from Jammu to Srinagar on the fateful day. They left their base in Jammu around 03:30 IST and they were expected to reach their destination in Srinagar before sunset. The National Highway 44 was shut for their movement two days before.

Whey the convoy reached Lethpora near Awantipora around 15:15 IST, a car carrying explosives rammed into a bus carrying security personnel of the 76th Battalion. The resulting blast left 40 CRPF personnel dead and as many injured that were quickly shifted to Srinagar base hospital for treatment.

Pakistan-based militant group Jaish-e-Mohammed took responsibility of the attack while releasing a video of the assailant who was a local 22-year boy from Kakapora. He was Adil Ahmad Dar and his family said that they hadn’t seen him since March 2018. They said that he left the home on bicycle and never turned back. But Pakistan denied any involvement in the attack.

Perpetrator

Adil Ahmad Dar alias Adil Ahmad GaadiTakranewala or Waqas Commando was reportedly arrested six times between September 2016 and March 2018, the day when he left his home. According to his family, he became radicalized after getting ill-treatment by Indian authorities. But he was released without any charges each time he was arrested.

India And Pakistan To Play In Semi-Final Of ICC U-19 World Cup 2020

Pakistan cricket team entered the semi-final of ICC U-19 World Cup 2020 by defeating Afghanistan by six-wickets in the quarter-final match. Pakistani team would face India in the semi-final to be played at Potchefstroom on February 4.

Pakistan won quarter-final

The match was played in Benoni, South Africa on Friday. Pakistani bowlers gave an impressive performance in the match. Also, the batsman did well. The debuting batsman Mohammed Huraira made stunning 64 runs to pull Pakistan in the match.

Afghanistan batted first

Afghanistan cricket team choose to bat first and scored 189 runs 49.1 overs. For Afghanistan, the skipper Farhan Jakheel scored highest 40 runs against Pakistan. But others could do no magic. On the bowling side, Mohammad Aamir Khan dismissed three Pakistani batsmen. He was the most successful bowler from Afghanistan.

The opening batsman Huraira made a half-century while chasing the target of 189 runs. Batsman Hyder Ali contributed 28 runs but Wasim Akram and Mohammad Haris remained not out at 25 and 29 respectively. Together the three batsmen accumulated 63 runs for the fifth-wicket and placed Pakistani team in a strong position.

India in semi-final

Pakistan would face its arch-rival India in the semi-final of ICC U-19 World Cup 2020. India that has already entered the semi-final after defeating Australia in a quarter-final match is ready for the battle. India defeated Australia on 28 January. With Pakistan and India playing semi-final match, the tournament has become very interesting.
