Umpires Appointed For India VS Australia Final Match

The umpires and officials for ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2020 to be played on Women’s Day have been appointed. Kim Cotton and Ahsan Raza will stand as on-field umpires for the final. The final match will be played between India and Australia.

Selection of umpires and officials

The selections were made on the conclusion of the semi-finals in Australia. Kim Cotton, the New Zealand umpire, will be joined Ahsan Raza, a Pakistani umpire. It is the first time that the 42-year-old Cotton will take charge of the women’s T20 World Cup final. He also stood in the semi-final match between Australia and South Africa at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG).

Ahsan Raza has experience of ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2017 final played between India and Australia. Also, he was selected for the semi-final between India and England.

Supporting umpires

Gregory Brathwaite of West Indies will be the TV umpire for the historic final match between India and Australia in Melbourne. Langton Rusere of Zimbabwe will be the fourth-umpire while Chris Broad of England is made match referee. Rusere was on-field official for 2018 final.

Music concert

Global music superstar Katy Perry has been called to perform during the match and return for post-match concert after the on-field presentations are concluded.

Final match

Four times champion Australia will play with the first time finalists India in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2020 final at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on March 8.
