Weather Bowls Out India And New Zealand In WTC Final

The first ICC Test Championship final (WTC Final) will be played under the shadow of dark clouds in Southampton, England on Friday. The match will be played between India and New Zealand from 18th to 22nd June and 23rd June is kept as a reserve day, if the match is delayed or halted due to any reason.

Dark clouds over WTC Final

It is raining in Southampton and the Met department has warned that the rain could continue till Sunday. Rain and thunderstorm have made the weather cool and pleasant but it has also spoiled the cricket mood. Fans are waiting for the match to start and their wait is becoming longer and longer. Also, there seems no respite from the rain.

The fate of WTC Final

If the met department is to be believed, the rain will continue for a large of the match that is for three days. In this situation, the entire match could be washed out as none of the teams will be able to bowl the required number of overs. And the match could head towards a draw. But there is still hope of seeing a good cricket in the WTC Final between India and New Zealand.

Reserve day

Though 23rd June is kept in reserve to cover the loss of time, it has many riders. The reserve day will be utilized only when the contesting teams can’t bowl the stipulated number of overs in five days. But here the things look different. The match will be played amid rains.

India and New Zealand are ready for the test of strength at the Ageas Bowl Stadium, if the weather permits. And both the teams are hopeful of winning the championship if they can play the game. It would be an interesting match despite rain.
