International Labour Organization (ILO) has marked June 12 to observe the World Day Against Child Labour and it is observed in almost 100 countries around the globe.

History of the World Day Against Child Labour

It started in 2002 when the International Labour Organization suggested that June 12 be observed as the World Day Against Child Labour. And it put facts in support of its suggestion. It said that many children in the age group of 5 to 17 were engaged in work that deprived them of normal childhood like getting education, proper healthcare and leisure time.

Significance of the World Day Against Child Labour

The World Day Against Child Labour is observed with the sole purpose of bringing the plight of child labour before the world and encourage the authorities responsible for safety of children to find ways to remove children from the clutches of labour. The message that goes to the society is to save childhood from the physical and mental problems of child labour.

This year the focus is on to highlight the impact of the crisis on child labour. The world is passing through a very difficult phase that is a pandemic. Today the world economy is under extreme stress. It is on the verge of collapsing. And this crisis can push millions of children worldwide into labour. Expect MSBSHSE Results In The First Week Of July

Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) is preparing to announce results for Class 10th and 12th examinations held in February-March this year. While MSBSHSE is yet to announce a date for result declaration, but students can expect the result in the first week of July.

MSBSHSE result

Every year, MSBSHSE declares results in May and June but this year is different because the nationwide lockdown has delayed evaluation process. It started only after lockdown, when teachers were allowed to take copies to their homes for evaluation. Maharashtra is the hardest hit state in India. It has the largest number of coronavirus cases in the country.

MSBSHSE cancelled exams

The board had to cancel the Geography Exam and Work Experience of Class 10th. Also, the second semester exams of Class 9th and 10th were also cancelled by Maharashtra School Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad due to the spread of coronavirus infection in the state.

MSBSHSE last year results

Last year 77.10% students passed the Class 10th exam. 90.52% of girl students passed the exam while the percentage of boys who passed the exam was 78.18%.

In Class 12th, 85.88% students passed the exam and here girl students also did better than the boys. The pass percentage of girl students was 90.25% while that of the boys was 82.40%.

Sundar Pichai Asked Students To Be Patient

Google CEO Sundar Pichai gave a special message to the graduating class of 2020 from his backyard. He was speaking to the students during YouTube’s Dear Class of 2020 virtual ceremony.

Be open, be impatient and be hopeful was his message to students. He even recalled his humble roots to highlight the importance of staying calm in difficult times. Sunder Pichai, 47, recalled the challenges he faced when he came to US to pursue his studies at Stanford University.

He said that his father spent his entire salary to buy his plane ticket to the US so that he could attend Stanford. And that was his first time on a plane. He said that America was expensive. A phone call back home was more than $2 a minute and going anywhere would be equal to his dad’s monthly salary.

Also, he drew comparison between how he grew up without much access to technology and said that students of the present time have access to computers of all shapes and sizes. He remembered that he had his first telephone at home when he was 10 and his first television had only one channel at that time.

60.64% Students Pass In Gujarat GSEB Class 10th Examination

Gujarat Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education has announced the result of the GSEB Class 10th examinations on its official website. Candidates waiting for the result of Gujarat SSC Examination 2020 are advised to check their results on official website of the board – gseb.org.

According to confirmed reports, 10.8 lakh students appeared for the Class 10th examinations. The exams were conducted between March 5 to March 7, 2020. Also, the Gujarat Board started a helpline to help students overcome the exam related stress. The board hired expert counsellors and psychologists to guide students during the GSEB SSC 2020 exams. The students are allowed to ask questions related to exams and seek guidance whenever they need.
