Google is helping people in different tasks like finding way during monsoon. People can talk to Google Assistant in Hindi or any other language of their choice. He said that Google was in the process of determining a business approach in India. This approach could be ad-supported or transaction based. He gave examples of YouTube as a premium model and G-suite as a subscription to companies.

Google invested a huge sum on Google Pay and the company is very excited about the growth of its digital payment app in India. Sundar Pichai said that Google wanted to contribute to the growth of digital payments and UPI framework.

Ad revenues in India

India is the largest market for YouTube. Sundar Pichai said that there were over 12,000 creators and over 1 million subscribers in India. People use YouTube for watching old Bollywood songs and learning new things to develop their skills.

Sundar Pichai said that Google had good understanding of the concerns raised by Indian government. He further maintained that Google viewed the privacy and security of users as a fundamental value. Sundar Pichai was of the opinion that Indian companies can take great strides in global market.

Lionel Messi was selected for the FIFA Best Player Award 2019 by beating rival Cristiano Ronaldo and Virgil Van Dijk, who was the winner of UEFA player’s award last month.

Music career of Ric Ocasek

He formed The Cars with his high school friend Benjamin Orr in the mid-1970s in the Boston. They merged guitar rock with synthesizer-based pop and give hits like What I Needed, My Best Friend’s Girl and Good Times Roll.

The turning point in his life came in 1984 when he performed to get Live Aid for the Ethiopian famine. He used ballad Dive for background music to support footage of the famine.

Breakup of the band

In 1980s, Ocasek started his solo-journey as a producer for artist that include Weezer, Bad Religion and No Doubt. Benzamine Orr, the founding member of the band, died in 1980 from pancreatic cancer.

Reformation of the band

Ric Ocasek reformed his band by bringing the remaining members of The Cars together and produced the final album that got him Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2018. Ocasek was found unresponsive in his Manhattan home. His family members informed the police after that is yet to ascertain the cause of his death.

Anand Kumar: Tale Of A Living Legend

Anand Kumar better known for his Super 30 programme was born on 1 January 1973 in Patna, Bihar. His love towards mathematics was visible in his zeal for learning since childhood and that culminated in the formation of a study group for underprivileged “Super 30”.

Early life

Born into a lower middle family, Anand Kumar could attend only a Hindi medium government school and get average education. His father being a clerk in the postal department wasn’t able to send his genius child to a private school for better education but nothing stopped Anand Kumar from attaining the best education.

Results

Anand Kumar’s work on number theory was featured in the Mathematical Spectrum and The Mathematical Gazette during graduation. He even secured admission to Cambridge University and received grants from benevolent donors but couldn’t attend the foreign university due to his father’s death and the resulting financial constraints.

His love for mathematics kept him going to places in search for education. He tutored students to earn extra bucks and sell papada with his mother to help her in meeting the finances. For education, he travelled to Varanasi that is 6-hours journey from Patna to find foreign journals not available in Patna university.

Teaching career

In 1992, Anand Kumar started his tuition centre from a rented room. He named his institute the Ramanujan School of Mathematics (RSM). Soon he became popular and start getting a large number of students in his coaching centre.

Super 30
