ASI Will Survey Gyanvapi Mosque On A Court Order

Archeological Survey of India will survey the Gyanvapi Mosque in Varanasi to ascertain whether there ever existed a Hindu temple before the mosque was constructed on a court order.

What was that court order?

A district court in Varanasi ordered ASI to constitute a five-member committee of experts including two from the minority community to check the facts about Gyanvapi Mosque. The court wants to know whether the mosque is a superimposition, alteration, or addition to a Hindu temple. Or there is a structural overlapping of any kind, with or over, any religious structure. The ASI Chief is also asked to appoint a scholar as an observer to observe the working of the committee.

Why the court passed this order?

The court passed the order on a three-decade old petition filed in 1991 by a group of Varanasi residents that claim that the Gyanvapi Mosque was created over an ancient Hindu temple by the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb in 1664.

What did UP Sunni Central Waqf Board say about the order?

Sunni Central Waqf Board chairman Zufar Ahmad Farooqui said that the petition was barred by the Places of Worship (Special Provisions) Act, 1991. He asserted that the status of Gyanvapi Mosque was beyond question in the light of the said law. He further added that a survey could only provide foundational facts and that no proof about the existence of a Hindu temple was produced in the court. The UP Sunni Central Waqf Board said they would challenge the order in Allahabad High Court.

IPL 2021 Begins Today With Defending Champion MI Taking On Top Contender RCB

The 14th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2021) begins today at 07:30 pm at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. In the first match, Mumbai Indians (MI) led by Rohit Sharma will take on Virat Kohli’s Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). It is an interesting match because both are powerful teams. While MI has won the IPL title 5 times and RCB has yet to claim its first title, RCB is also a top contender for the title.

MI vs RCB so far

Both the teams have played a total of 29 matches out of which MI has won 19 matches and RCB had to contend with only 10 wins. They played 27 matches in IPL and 2 matches in the Champions League that has been closed. In IPL, MI defeated RCB in 17 matches and won both the Champions League matches. The first match will be played without spectators to keep audiences and players safe from the pandemic.

IPL 2021 venues

This year, BCCI has selected only six venues for IPL matches and the surprising thing is that no IPL team will get the opportunity to play on its home ground this season. The first of IPL 2021 is at MA Chidambaram Stadium but both the teams are playing their third match at this stadium and both have won one match each. This season, Rohit Sharma is eying for the sixth IPL title and Virat Kohli also seems determined to claim their first title.

Vakeel Saab: Pawan Kalyan Replaces Amitabh Bachchan In Telugu Remake Of Pink

Story

Three women – Vemula Pallavi (Nivetha Thomas), Zareena (Anjali) and Divya (Ananya Nagalla) – meet Vamshi (Vamsi) and his friends at a resort. There they sexually assault the girls. Pallavi hits Vamshi with a bottle on his head to escape from his clutches and the three girls run away. Injured Vamshi who belongs to a political family gets Pallavi arrested by filing a backdate case against her. The girls approach Vakeel Saab Konidela Satya Dev (Pawan Kalyan) for help.

Highlights of the movie:

• The second half of the movie is all about court drama

Weakness of the movie:

• Poorly scripted flashback story in the first half

• Less appealing than the original movie

Verdict

“Vakil Saab” has many things in common with Pink but the Telugu remake is more centric to Pawan Kalyan. The movie starts with a very positive note but looks tilting towards Pawan Kalyan. It seems that the director wanted to give the star an advantage. But the director has tried to retain as much originality as possible. Overall, the movie is good to watch with family and friends.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave an example of singer Lata Mangeshkar to inspire students to take to difficult questions and subjects during his “Pariksha pe charcha” session.

It is an annual event where PM Modi interacts with school children from across the country. This year, the event was hosted in the virtual world due to pandemic-related restrictions. But over 14 lakh students and teachers registered to participate in the event.

Modi said that was habitual of dealing with difficult questions first since he was Chief Minister of Gujarat. Every morning, the officials would update Modi about the most difficult situations, the PM said. Once the difficult situations were handled, he sits down to relax and solve the easier problems, maintained PM Modi.

He advised students not to avoid difficult subjects as things that look difficult become easier over time. He gave a few examples to substantiate his claim. He said that cycling and swimming looked difficult at the beginning but becomes easier after some time. He asked them to note down the difficult questions and said that they would never find those questions tough after that.

IPL 2021 Opening Match MI VS RCB Highlights

Mason Mount Led Chelsea To Victory In First Leg Champions League Quarters With Porto

Chelsea won its first leg match in the Champions League quarter-final. The Blues were playing with Porta and they won by a 2-0 score. Mason Mount and Ben Chilwell scored the goals in 32nd and 85th minutes respectively. While Porto had more of the half-chances but their players failed to make any breakthrough.

Agustin Marchesin (Goalkeeper) 5 Rating: His ratings were marred by poor positioning at the backline leading to goals. Also, his decision-making was questionable.

Pepe (Defender) 6 Rating: He was thoroughly involved in the midfield but he made a superb attempt at the goal that Mendy saved meticulously. His efforts could bear fruits but he was heavily busy connecting the team.

Otavio (Midfielder) 6 Rating: He played well in the midfield but was substituted at the 83rd minute when Chelsea started chasing the game. He also made a nice attempt at goal

Four Important Points Of RBI Monetary Policy

Reserve Bank of India (RBI) governor Shaktikanta Das will release the first by-monthly monetary policy statement of fiscal 2022 in a press conference on Wednesday. The statement was prepared by the six-member Monetary Policy Committee (MPC), or the rate-setting panel, headed by Das after three-day marathon meeting could shed light on the following points.

Rate Action & Commentary

A change in policy rates is unlikely to happen but a hike is expected at the end of the current fiscal or the next. Most bankers and economists also want the RBI to support the recovery that has just begun by maintaining the present rates.

Economic Growth

The MPC is unlikely to revise down its FY22 forecast of 105% amid localized lockdowns due to fresh wave of pandemic. But RBI could revise its Q1FY22 forecast of 26.2%. Lead indicators also point to mid sequential moderation in RBI policies.

Inflation

Rising input costs, commodity prices, and sticky core inflation could press RBI to revise its inflation forecast for the Q2FY22. The central bank projected inflation at 5.2-5% in Q1FY22 and 4.3% in the second half in its February policy. According to Madhavi Arora, economist, Emkay Global, there could be little tinkering with inflation forecasts.

Liquidity

While the experts are divided into liquid normalization process of RBI, but there are strong chances that the central bank could start liquidity normalization in the second half of the fiscal. But Sonal Varma and Aurodeep Nandi, economists, Nomura believe that RBI could start the process in mid-2021.

Tim Cook said that that was a straightforward decision because the app weren’t adhering to the guidelines of the App Store. He said that one couldn’t incite violence or allow people to incite violence. He further said that he hoped that the app would come back.

On social media attack on the Capitol

Tim Cook said that he was deeply worried about the amplification of social media as a targeting tool to spread misinformation or extremist sentiments. For the Capitol attack, he said that it was the darkest day in their history.

Tim Cook said that he was appalled by that and for that reason, they came out with things like a privacy nutrition label. He said that they would improve that over time.
