Free One-Year Disney+ Hotstar VIP Subscription For Jio Prepaid Subscribers

Reliance Jio is offering one-year subscription of Disney+ Hotstar VIP to its prepaid users on recharge of Rs. 401 and Rs. 2599 plan. Also, the offer is available on data vouchers of Rs. 612 and Rs. 1208. The one-year subscription of Disney+ Hotstar VIP is also available at Rs. 399 but Reliance Jio has bundled it with its prepaid voice and data plans.

Jio Hotstar plan benefits

The Rs. 401 plan packs 3GB high-speed data per day that can be extended to 6GB per day. Also, it has unlimited calling from Jio-to-Jio and Joi-to-landline. 1000 minutes talk-time on Jio-to-others and 100 SMS per day. Also, the 28-day plan bundles Jip apps subscription.

The Rs. 2588 plan gives 2GB high-speed data per day; 10GB additional data, unlimited calling to Jio-to-Jio and to landline; 1000 minutes calling to Jio-to-others and 100 SMS per day. Also, it has Jio apps subscription. This plan is valid for 365 days.

Jio Hotstar data vouchers benefits

The Rs. 612 data voucher includes 72GB of total high-speed data and 6000 minutes talk time for Jio-to-other mobiles. It will be valid until your base plan. The Rs. 1,208 data voucher packs 240GB of high-speed data for 240 days.

Disney+ Hotstar benefits

The Jio offer is for VIP subscription of Disney+ Hotstar and not for Premium plan. This plan includes local-language dubs of Marvel, Star Wars, Pixar, and Disney movies as well as Hotstar Specials, kids content, live spots, and more.

What Is Indian Agenda Of High-Level Talks With Chinese Military?

India and China have decided to hold high-level talks in the Indian Border Point Meeting hut in Chushul-Moldo to resolve the standoff at LAC on Ladakh and Sikkim border. Lieutenant General Harinder Singh, Commander of 14 Corps will meet his Chinese counterpart the Commander of the Tibet Military District.

Indian agenda for the high-level talks

According to official sources, India will insist on restoration of the previous state of affairs in all areas of eastern Ladakh. Also, India will oppose the huge build up of Chinese forces in the region and ask China not to oppose infrastructure development on the Indian side.

Chinese military has been obstructing normal patrolling by Indian troops along the Line of Actual Control in Ladakh and Sikkim. Also, it alleged Indian army of trespassing into the Chinese side. The present standoff has already witnessed skirmishes between soldiers of the two armies in the Pangong Tso Lake region on May 5 and May 6.

Reason for the Indo-China standoff

India has been developing roads in the Finger area around the Pangong Tso Lake and in the Darbuk-Shayok-Daulat Beg Oldie area in Galwan Valley. But China is strongly opposing the infrastructure buildup by India. For India, this infrastructure is important for smooth patrolling of the area. And the country has decided to continue with its road buildup projects despite stiff opposition by China.

Both the countries have fought a brief war in 1962 and were also involved in a military standoff in Doklam that lasted for three months in 2017.

How Is Breonna Taylor Killing Related To George Floyd Case?

Killing of George Floyd has brought the memory of another incident of racial injustice in the country to the forefront. It happened in the month of March when a police party killed a 26-year old first responder Breonna Taylor during her home search.

On March 13, Louisville police armed with a “no-knock” provision entered Taylor’s home without giving any warning or identifying themselves as law enforcement officers. But the Louisville police said that they identified themselves before using force.

At home, Breonna Taylor was in her bedroom with her boyfriend Kenneth Walker. The police alleged that Walker fired on them in a surprise attack and the police party had to respond to that fire in self-defense. But they fired dozens of times killing Taylor on the spot. She received eight bullets and died in the hall of her apartment.

Investigation of Breonna Taylor killing

The investigation was started on May 21, almost two months after the killing. And the account narrated by the policed was disputed by Taylor’s family and their lawyers. A transcript from 911 call said that Walker informed that someone kicked in the door and shot his girlfriend.

The Taylor’s family also filed a lawsuit charging the police of wrongful death due to gross negligence. They said that the police sprayed bullets in the residence while Taylor and Walker were of the opinion that the house was broken into by strangers.

While the killers of George Floyd are arrested, the police officers involved in the killing of Taylor are yet to be arrested.

Their story reflects of the life of a typical middle-class family struggling to survive in tough situations like posed by demonetisation. Sushant has some debts to pay but the responsibility of his debts lies on his wife as he is jobless. SpiceJet Pilot Robbed At Gunpoint In South West Delhi

A SpiceJet pilot was robbed, attacked and left bleeding in middle of the night in South Delhi. The incident happened on a flyover close to the Indian Institute of Technology in Delhi. The pilot called the police after the assailants had fled.

The robbery incident

Yuvraj Tewatia is a flight captain with SpiceJet. He was going to airport at 1 am in his office car when he was intercepted by 10 people. They were on five scooters that they used to block the captain’s car. They were carrying weapons for the robbery. They smashed the car window and one of them hit the captain on head with his pistol.

After broking the car window and hitting the captain, they looted the Rs. 34,000 cash the captain was carrying and other valuables and fled. Again, one of them injured the captain with a knife and left the captain bleeding in his car. It is only after they had fled that the captain made a police complaint.

The pictures of broken car windows with a detailed account of the incident went viral over the social media. It highlighted a grave concern for those involved in providing essential services in COVID-19 lockdown. Similar incidents also said to occurred at the same place.

Police acting on the complaint

A case has been filed with south west Delhi police station but the police officials escaped from giving details about the assailants. Delhi Police spokesperson MS Randhawa said that the police had received the complaint and that matter was under investigation.

Delhi Jolted By 3 Magnitude Quake At 10:42 On Wednesday

A mild earthquake of 3.2 magnitude hit Delhi and adjoining areas at late evening on Wednesday. But the good thing is that no casualties were reported due to the quake.

Delhi witnessed another quake

National Center for Seismology (NCS) the earthquake hit 17 km east of Faridabad in Haryana at 10:42 pm on Wednesday but its tremors were felt across the national capital and the adjoining cities of Noida.

Delhi also experienced a quake earlier in May 29 when an earthquake measuring 4.6 on Richter Scale jolted the entire Delhi-National Capital Region. It occurred at 9 pm in Rohtak, Haryana. Its epicenter was found to be 3.3 km under the earth.

Frequent quakes in Delhi

The national capital has witnessed 6-7 quakes of mild intensity in the last two months. Delhi is already grappling with coronavirus pandemic. In this situation, frequent quakes have become a matter of concern for the authorities.

Experts speak about Delhi quakes

Dr Soumitra Mukherjee, Professor of Geology at Jawaharlal Nehru University said that there was little to worry about those quakes but there was a need to remain vigilant. She said that quakes keep coming in Delhi region because it falls in a seismic zone four.

According to experts, people need not to worry about the tremors measuring up to 4-standard on Richter Scale as they are called mild but quake of 4 and above standards could cause greater harm to the city that is densely populated and most buildings don’t comply with quake measurement rules.

Cyclone Nisarga Approaching Mumbai At 120 KMPH

Mumbai the financial capital of India is bracing for a cyclone in over 100 years. It was a tropical cyclone named Nisarga but it intensified into a “super cyclonic storm” today morning.

  1. Cyclone Nisarga will make landfall about 100 km from Mumbai near Alibaug. Its wind speed could be up to 110 km/hour gusting up to 120 km/hour.
  2. In Maharashtra, more than 19,000 people have been moved to safe places. CM Udbhav Thackeray has appealed people to stay indoors.
  3. The eye of the storm is visible in the Dopplers Weather Radars (DWR) that are tracking the storm in Mumbai and Goa. The diameter of the eye is 65 km.
  4. Mumbai police has banned human movement along the coastline since last night.
  5. Directorate General of Civil Aviation cautioned airlines against operating in cyclonic conditions.
  6. A storm surge of up to 6.5 meters high will inundate the low-lying areas of Mumbai, Thane and Raigad districts.
  7. Over 30 National Disaster Response Force teams have been deployed at sensitive areas to conduct rescue operations.
  8. Prime Minister Narendra Modi took stock of the situation and payed for the well being of all.
  9. Indian Coast Guard Ships and planes have been warning fishermen to return to harbour before cyclone sets in.
  10. It is second cyclone to strike India’s coastline in less than two weeks. Earlier Cyclone Amphan made landfall in West Bengal and Orissa. It killed 100 people and displaced millions.
