Ashes 2019 Batsman Steve Smith Is The New Don Bradman Of Australia

Australian batsman Steve Smith made a stunning return from 12-month ban for a ball-tempering scandal. His 144 and 142 runs inning played a crucial role in Australia’s 251-run win over England in the first Test at Edgbaston.

Comparison with Bradman

It is the greatest score hit by any Australian batsman after Bradman considered The Don of batting. With an average of 62.96 in 20 innings, Smith is placed second to Bradman whose batting average was 99.94.

Smith remained out of cricked for 12-moths due to a ban and missed cricked due to World War II.

Bradman made his century in his first Test century in 1947 while playing against England in Brisbane followed by 234 in second Test in Sydney. Smith scored 200-runs in an Ashes Test to equal Bradman.

Bradman’s favourite pull

Some experts consider Bradman’s stance as a minor imperfection in his batting. He used to pick his bat from between his feet instead of the backfoot that was the norm those days.

Smith’s stance on creases

The 30-year old batsman shuffles across the crease before taking the final stand. Also, he keeps his laces taped because he doesn’t want to see the laces while batting. This approach makes him susceptible to get lbw but he scored 5-centuries with an average of 139 in the last six Tests in Ashes.

Neil Harvey on Smith

Harvey 90, the only surviving member of Bradman’s team that won the 1948 Ashes in England, places Smith equal to his captain Bradman but shies away from comparing the two – Bradman and Smith. For more information please visit our latest trending News

India is one of the best Indian cricket team so far. The match between India and Sri Lanka on Saturday will look all set. Win of this game is really crucial for India with a higher table as to enter in semi-finals and give the fight to New-Zealand 9 July.

Despite the contribution of all Indian team members, MS Dhoni has found with lack of intent and willing to win. He has facing serious criticism from the audience for his slow approach. The middle-orders are still unsolved.

The middle ordered of India team failed to impress and fetch quick runs. The Indian team is heavily depending on first three batsman scores including Rahul, Rohit Sharma, and Virat Kohli.

Rohit is leading run-scorer in this tournament with 544 runs, includes four centuries. Kohli is also next as best run-score, but yet to mark up his first century.

Sri Lanka is also the strongest team in this tournament so far. They have very good skippers Lasith Malinga, who will be good in at slow deliveries of the bowl. The front line spin option Dhnanajaya de Shiva has been economical with a ball so far in his matches.

Both teams will struggle for them and we just wish them good luck.

Cricket World Cup 2019: It clearly seems Pakistan can’t store their place in Semi-finals

In Yesterday match, England stores its place in semi-finals after the year of 1992 via defeating New Zealand in Chester-lee-street.

England becomes the 3rd team, which take place in semi-finals of the world-cup 2019.

On the talk of Pakistan, it clearly impossible for them to book their place in semi-finals. Mathematically they are still qualified for the semi-finals if they beat Bangladesh on Friday on 5th July in London by a huge margin.

The first hurdle for Pakistan, they have to win the toss and bat first. If Pakistan scores 450 they need to dismiss Bangladesh for max 129 (a margin of at least 321 runs)

Or if they score 400 i.e. a margin of 316 runs.

It is just a perspective. The biggest margin of victory of ODI Cricket in 299 runs. Pakistan is now currently on 9 points from 8 matches with 4 wins, 3 losses, and one washout.

Pakistan lost three of their first five matches before registering three consecutive wins over South Africa, Afghanistan, and New Zealand.
