History Of The World Music Day?

The tradition to celebrate World Music Day began in France in 1982 when the government supports artists through the Fete De La Musique portal. The portal invites music lovers to choose their preferred locations and order posters to take their music to the masses. The longest day of the year has to be celebrated with music every hour.

How Are Other Countries Supporting Music Lovers?

Brazil and the Philippines have allowed musical performances by both professionals and amateurs in public parks, recreation areas, and common walkways. In England, artists like Luke Jerram placed pianos in public areas including airport concourses to encourage people to play music. These musical instruments have the catchword “Play Me, I’m Yours” to give the message. And it is surprising to know that over 20 million people in over 70 cities across the globe played those public pianos. Bhutan, the world’s happiest country, also pays ode to music with its ‘yak songs’ made popular by the movie Lunana.
