So, in this article, we are talking about the legendary player Dhyanchand. The great Hockey player Dhyanchand was born on 29 August 1905 in Allahabad. His father was a British Indian Army man and also a good player of hockey. After attaining some elementary enlightenment, he merged with the Indian Army in 1922. Subedar Major Tiwari motivated him to play Hockey, major Tiwari was also a sports lover.
To saw the outstanding performance of Dhyanchand in hockey, the Indian Army promoted him again and again and in last eventually he become Major.
Major Achievements of Dhyanchand:-
He won 3 gold medals in Olympics and made India proud. In 1936, at Berlin Olympic Game he was elected as a captain of the Indian hockey team. In his entire carrier, he had scored over 400 international Goals. The Government of India honored him in 1956 with the third-largest civilian Padma Bhushan Award and to celebrate his birthday as National Sports Day since 2012.
