Shahid Kapoor Leaves His Mark As An Angry Failed Cricketer

Jersey is a sports drama movie featuring Shahid Kapoor and Mrunal Thakur in the lead roles. It is based on a 2019 Telugu movie of the same name. Also, the director of both the movies is the same. Gowtam Tinnanuri directed both the Telugu and the Hindi movie Jersey.

Story

Arjun Talwar (Shahid Kapoor) is a senior cricketer in his 30s. He had a long and fulfilling career in the sport when he opts for retirement. But he has to make a comeback to the Indian cricket team to inspire his son. His father Pankaj Kapoor also plays a crucial role in the movie. He is Arjun’s coach Madhav Sharma.

Jersey was first scheduled to be released on 31 December 2021, but couldn’t due to pandemic. Now it is expected to be released on 14 April 2022 in theaters. But an OTT release is also expected.

Shahid Kapoor is a jobless cricketer facing heat both from within and outside. His family life is disturbed and the future looks bleak. He needs some money to buy a jersey for his son but he has no money. His wife offers some money but he refuses. It is when he sees some light in the darkness.

• Shooting for Jersey was suspended temporarily due to pandemic
