The much-awaited Season 2 of the most popular drama series ‘Squid Game’ is ready to hit Netflix anytime soon. Netflix confirmed the return of the series by dropping a brief teaser of season two on Sunday.

The clip was shared with a message in which the creator, writer, director, and executive producer Hwang Dong-Hyuk shared more details about the characters returning to the Season 2 of the Netflix thriller. “Red light… GREENLIGHT!” read the message while the clip featured a brief animation of the gigantic animatronic doll that is considered the crux of the ‘Squid Game’ plot.
Statement From The Creator
Hwang said that it took him 12 years to bring the Season 1 of the ‘Squid Game’ to life. The first season of the game started on 17 September 2021 and it contained 9 episodes. The statement further read that it took only 12 days for the show to become the most popular TV show on Netflix. According to Netflix data, the game locked 1.65 billion hours of viewing in the first month of its release.
Elated by the success of the show, Netflix’s co-CEO Ted Sarandos officially confirmed more episodes of the ‘Squid Game’. Now finally it is official that Season 2 of the game will soon be available for the viewers on Netflix. It will also boost the viewership of the OTT platform.
What Is In The Season 2?
Hwang teased the story further in the statement. He said that viewers will see protagonist Seong Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae) and the masked antagonist the Front Man (Lee Byung-hun) in the new season. He has retained the characters considering their popularity. Also, there could be new twists and turns in Season 2. The viewers are waiting eagerly for the new season and now their wait is finally over.
