Women are dominating every field but some women are simple outstanding due to their achievements against all odds. Here’re 11 such women that dominated fields that are hitherto dominated by men.
Tashnuva Anan Shishir
She’s first-ever transgender to become a newsreader in a private new channel in Bangladesh, Boishakhi TV. And she’ll start reading news from 8th March.
Mary Jackson
First Black engineer in NASA, Mary Jackson advocated for equity in the discipline that white men have dominated historically. NASA renamed its Washington, DC headquarters after Mary W. Jackson to honor its woman engineer. She received this honor posthumously.
Claire Polosak
She became the first woman umpire to officiate in a men’s ODI and in a men’s Test. She was an umpire in India vs Australia first Test in Sydney.
Bhawana Kanth
Flight lieutenant Bhawana Kanth became the first woman fighter pilot to take part in R-Day parade. She showcased mock-ups of the light combat aircraft, light combat helicopter and the Sukhoi-30 fighter plane on Indian Air Force’s (IAF’s) tableau.
Chloé Zhao
She became the first Asian woman, after nearly 80 years, to win the Best Director Golden Globe for directing Nomadland. Also, she’s the first Asian woman to be nominated for the prestigious award.

Nathalie Becquart
French national Nathalie Becquart has been appointed as an undersecretary of the synod of bishops and she’s the first woman to hold the post. Pope Francis took the decision by breaking the tradition.
Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala
She became the first woman and first African to head the WTO when the 66-year old Nigerian economist was named director-general by representatives of the 164 countries that make up the WTO.

The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has included 34-women personnel from its “Mahila Battalions” into its elite CoBRA unit to take on Maoists.
Kiran Deoli Uniyal
She’s the first Indian woman to feature in India Records and High Range Book of World Records as the “First Woman/Female to achieve Most/Maximum Numbers of World Records in Martial Arts in India”. She has won 12 World Records in Martial Arts in speed elbow strikes and kicks.
