After India, China Also Rejects Trump’s Offer For Mediation

Chinese media promptly reacted to Trump’s offer of mediation between India and China to resolve the ongoing standoff in Ladakh and Sikkim sector. China’s state-run media said that leaderships of both the countries were capable of resolving the dispute just like they resolved the Doklam standoff in 2017.

US President Trump offers mediation to China

Donald Trump send his offer for mediation to resolve the issue of LAC between China and India in a tweet. He said that he was ready, willing and able to mediate between the two countries. The tweet further read that the US had informed both China and India that Trump was willing to mediate to help resolve the flaring border dispute between the two Asian countries.

China turned Trump’s offer down

The op-ed article on state-run Global Times said that China and India didn’t need any help from the US. Both the countries need to be aware about the US that exploited every opportunity to jeopardize regional peace and order. The article further read gave example of the Doklam face off and explained how both the countries resolved that issue. The article expressed faith and belief in the leadership of both the countries.

India responded to Trump’s call for mediation

Indian experts advised that both the countries should constitute a channel of communication for resolving border dispute. Also, the New Delhi virtually rejected Trump’s offer for mediation saying that the leadership in India was capable enough to resolve its border dispute with the neighboring country.
