Following the footsteps of her late mother, Queen Elizabeth II, the king also decided to celebrate his birthday on June 17 weeks after his coronation ceremony on May 6, although the king was born in November.

A procession of over 1400 parading soldiers, 200 horses, and 400 musicians will march from Buckingham Palace down the Mall to Horse Guards Parade. And it will be a spectacular display of military precision, horsemanship, and fanfare followed by a Royal Air Force fly-past. In June, the parade will have full advantage of the British summer and it could also be a reason for commemorating the occasion in June.
