Prime Minister Narendra Modi converted his meeting with his Malaysian counterpart Mahathir Mohammad into a bilateral discussion by raising the issue of controversial Islamic preacher Zakir Naik. The Islamic preacher has been accused of terrorism and money laundering charges. PM Modi demand his extradition from Malaysia.

The Indian premier is in Vladivostok, Russia for the fifth meeting of Easter Economic Forum (EEF). Malaysian PM Mahathir Mohammad is also attending the EEF meeting. The two leaders met on the sidelines of the EEF meeting and discussed bilateral issues. PM Modi asked for extradition of Zakir Naik and also updated his Malaysian counterpart on abrogation of Article 370 and 35A and bringing Kashmir into the mainstream.

PM Narendra Modi is meeting world leaders and updating them about the Kashmir situation and need for abrogating the political status of Kashmir. He told the Malaysian PM that repealing of Article 370 and 35A was necessary for the growth and development of Kashmir.
