3,500 Ton Gold Reserve Found In UP’s Sonbhadra District

The Geological Survey of India claims to discover huge gold deposits in Sonbhadra district of Uttar Pradesh after two decades of intense search. Officials of the organization made a statement regarding the discovery on Friday.

The Geological Survey of India said that it had discovered over 3,500 tonnes of gold reserves in Sonbhadra district and that the auctioning of these blocks with e-tenders would start soon. Breaking the news about gold deposits, KK Rai, the district mining officer said they found a large reserve of gold in Son Pahadi and Hardi areas of Sonbhadra district.

KK Rai further said that the work on the gold reserves had been going on for the past two decades and that he felt lucky this time to had found the gold. According to intial estimates, Son Pahadi area could have 2943.26 tonnes gold and Hardi block could have 646.16 tonnes.Mr. Rai said that there could be some important minerals in addition to gold.

Delhi: Seelampur Tense But Under Control; Former Congress MLA Accused In JMI Violence

Peaceful procession against Citizenship (Amendment) Bill turned violent in Seelampur area in Delhi on Tuesday. According to reports, there were around 1,000 protestors in the procession when it took a violent turn by burning a school bus and a police station. Two police booths are also damaged.

Joint Commissioner of Delhi Alok Kumar said that people protesting peacefully at the Seelampur t-point suddenly started stoning. Also, they clashed with the police party present to manage the procession. And police had to use mild lathicharge and fire tear gas shells to disperse the violent crowd.

The incident resulted in injury to 21 people out of which 12 belong to Delhi Police and 3 to Rapid Action Force. The police have detained 5 people for the incident. The Joint Commission said that the situation was brought under control by appealing to the violent crowd from masjids and madarsas. Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal has also appealed to maintain peace in the city.

FIR against former Congress MLA

Delhi police have registered a FIR against the former Congress MLA, Asif Khan in connection with the Jamia Millia Islamia incident. In another development, Saket court sent the 14 people arrested by police in JMI case to judicial custody for 14 days.

Leaders of opposition parties met the President Ram Nath Kovind under the leadership of Sonia Gandhi. The Congress president complaint about the Modi government’s efforts to suppress peace opposition to the President. She further said that people’s voice can’t be suppressed in democracy.

CAB Protests Become Violent With Protestors Setting A Railway Station On Fire And Attacking BJP Officials

West Bengal witnessed the worst form of violence against Citizenship (Amendment) Bill 2019 when protestors stormed into a railway station and set it into fire disrupting the rail traffic.

Thousands of people protesting against CAB in West Bengal’s Murshidabad district entered into Beldanga railway station complex and set it on fire. The platform, two-three building and the station complex was burnt and the RPF personnel brutally beaten up by the protestors. Train service in the Murshidabad district were crippled due to the fire incident.

In Howrah, the protestors blocked tracks at the Uluberia railway station and vandalised the complex and some trains and injured a driver. In Kolkata, protestors blocked traffic for hours while protesting at Park Circus and near the airport.

In East Midnapore district, the protestors attacked the car of BJP General Secretary SayantanBasu. Police had to come to his rescue. BJP’s Kailash Vijayvargiya condemned the attack on Basu and blamed the state government for the violence.

West Bengal Governor Jagdeep and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee have appealed for peace and asked the protestors to use democratic means.

Repercussions of violence

Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe cancelled his visit to attend a summit in Assam’s Guwahati next week amid the protests. Also, Bangladesh called off visit of its two ministers due to violent demonstrations against the CAB.

Citizenship (Amendment) Bill 2019 has now become a law after the President Ram Nath Kovind gave his assent to the bill late on Thursday night.

SC Again Fumes Over Pollution In Delhi

The Supreme Court fumed over the worsening air quality index of Delhi and the fact that 45% of city’s garbage remains unattended. The SC declared that the city was no longer liveable and became worst than the narark (hell).

A fuming bench of SC said that people were dying of various ailments like cancer caused due to pollution. It compared Delhi with a gas chamber and said that it is better the government killed people with explosives instead leaving them to die a slow death due to pollution.

Sena-NCP-Congress Draft 40-Point CMP For Government Formation

In the first concrete step towards government formation in Maharashtra, Shiv Sena, NCP and Congress agreed to a 40-poing Common Minimum Program (CMP). But the draft is yet to be shared with the chiefs of the three parties for approval.

• NCP will have 14 cabinet ministers in the state government

Shiv Sena is staking claim on CM’s post but it could agree on rotating CM or the alliance parties could get equal term for CM. The draft CMP is likely to be approved by November 19 after which the process of government formation would start.

SC Gives Clean Chit To Rs. 58,000 Crore Rafael Deal

The Supreme Court upheld the decision of buying 36 fully-loaded Rafael fighter jets from France while rejecting the petitions seeking review of the Rafael order. The apex court gave clean chit to the government in Rafael deal in its November 14 order.
