Realme 5i: 5000mAB Battery, Quad Camera AndLow Price

After numerous leaks and teasers, Realme 5i finally saw the light on Monday in Vietnam. And this watered-down version of Realme 5 is expected to reach India by Thursday.

It features a quad-rear camera setup and packs a massive 5000mAH battery. The screen size is 6.52-inch with a waterdrop notch and it is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 SoC paired with up to 4GB of RAM.

Specifications

This dual-SIM Smartphone runs on Android Pie with ColorsOS 6.0.1. The HD+ 6.52-inch display has 89% screen-to-body ratio and Corning Gorilla Glass 3+ protection.

The quad-camera setup includes a main 12MP camera with an f/1.8 aperture. The second camera is an 8MP lens with an f/2.25 aperture and a 118.9-degree viewing angle. The other two cameras are 2MP portrait camera and 2MP macro camera with 4cm closeup range. The selfie camera is 8MP with an f/2.0 aperture. The quad-camera allows 4K video recording at 30fps and slo-mo video recording at 120fps. Also, it has super night mode.

The new Realme 5i packs a powerful 5000mAH battery with 10W quick charging support. Also, it allows expansion of 64GB storage to 256GB via a microSD card. Sensors provided in the phone are compass, ambient light sensor, proximity sensor, accelerometer, gyroscope, and fingerprint sensor for authentication.

In Vietnam, the Realme 5i was launched at a cost of VND 3,690,000 that translates to Rs. 11,500 in Indian currency. But it is the cost of the 3GB and 32GB variant. The higher 4GB and 64GB variant is priced at VND 4,290,000 that is Rs. 13,500 in Indian currency.

Nissan Will Challenge Venue And Vitara Brezza With New SUV

Kicks was the first step of Nissan in the compact SUV sector and not the Japanese carmaker plans to take head-on the established brands in the subcompact SUV space.

The Indian subcompact car market is dominated by Hyundai Venue, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Tata Nexon, Ford EcoSport and Mahindra XUV300. Nissan is also targeting this sector with its new model.

The sub-4 metre has seen much competition in recent years. In addition to the available models, Kia and Renault are also planning to launch their new models. Also, Nissan would add its latest offering with a very competitive pricing. The new Nissan sub-compact car is expected to start at Rs. 6.5 lack (ex-showroom).

Design of new Nissancar

It would be a CMF-A (Common Module Family) platform. Nissan is making the new design in joint venture with Renault under Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance. The same platform would be used for the upcoming Renault HBC subcompact SUV expected to be launched in mid-2020.

The new Nissan would use 1.0L Energy petrol engine presently used in Renault Triber. It is 71bhp engine and it produces a torque of 96Nm. According to media reports, the MPV will come with more powerful turbocharged version of the existing petrol engine.

Watch Partial Solar Eclipse As Ring-Of-Fire On Christmas 2019

Christmas 2019 is going to be very special for sky-watchers, space fans and nature lovers across the world. A rare annual solar eclipse will coincide with Christmas this year and the solar eclipse would be visible online.

Annual solar eclipse

It occurs when a New Moon is furthest from the Earth on its elliptical orbit, it fully eclipses the Sun that appears as a “ring-of-fire” or “ring-of-light” around the Moon. On Christmas, the moon will appear about 1% smaller. It is a partial solar eclipse and the observers are advised to wear protective solar eclipse glasses.

The eclipse would be visible along a path that is 118 kilometers wide. It will be visible from Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Oman, southern India, norther Sri Lanka, the Indian Ocean, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, the Philippines and Guam. Also, the Middle East, south-east Asia and Australia would witness a partial solar eclipse. The Sun will rise as a ring of fire in Saudi Arabia and set as a ring of light in Guam.

Time of the Christmas Day Solar Eclipse

The Universal Co-ordinated Time (UTC) of the partial solar eclipse is 2:29 AM but the action would begin at 3:43 AM. The Sun would rise in Saudi Arabia at 6:43 local time but the key sight of the “ring of fire” would last only for 2 minutes and 50 seconds. And the “ring of light” would be visible for the world for a few minutes across the next three and half hours.

Sundar Pichai Promised $242 Million Over Three Years By Google

Sundar Pichai would take a salary of $2 million annually starting 2020. This is the first salary hike for Sundar Pichai after assuming the role of CEO in Alphabet Inc. He will also receive a whopping $240 million in performance-based stock awards over a time of three years.

He’s behind Tim Cook in terms of grants related to CEO. Tim took $376 million as Apple’s CEO according to Equilar, a firm that tracks executive compensations.But Larry Page was taking a salary of $1 as the CEO of Alphabet Inc before stepping down.

Sundar Pichai became CEO of Google after serving the organization for 15 years. In 2015, his annual salary was $652.500 but his increased the following year due to a massive $199 million in stock awards. He was highest paid Alphabet executive at that time.

Credited for making the Google Chrome browser a success, Sundar Pichai was once considered the potential successor to Microsoft Corp CEO Steve Ballmer before Satya Nadella was instated in February 2014.

Google recently revealed in a statement that Pichai earned nearly $1.9 million in 2018 but most of the cost includes is about his security and use of private airplane. His base salary was $650.000.

Infosys To Pay $800,000 Over Worker Misclassification, Tax Fraud Charges

Infosys is charged with misclassification of employees between 2006 and 2017 and it is asked to pay California $800,000 as a settlement amount for its wrongdoings but the top IT major of India has denied the allegations but agreed to pay the said amount.

Charges against Infosys

It was found that Infosys had approximately 500 employees working on Infosys-sponsored B-1 visas instead of H-1B visas. The California Attorney General Xavier Becerra claimed that India’s top IT major did so to avoid California payroll taxes like unemployment insurance, disability insurance and employment training taxes.

Infosys settlement

The attorney general said that the settlement proved that evading California law didn’t pay to Infosys. He alleged that the company brought employees on wrong visas to save taxes. Also, the workers were underpaid by the company. The settlement brings the company to justice. When asked about the wrongdoings, Infosys denied any wrongdoings.

Earlier incident

It isn’t the first time that Infosys is made to pay for settlement. State of New York also charged the company with submitting wrong documents to federal authorities and made to pay $1 million towards settlement charges.

Whistleblower in California incident

Jack “Jay” Palmer, a former employee of Infosys, filed a lawsuit against the company in 2017. California decided to take action on his complaint and found Infosys to be violating the rules. The California incident came out in November but it was released to the media on Tuesday.

18 New McLaren Models Will Enter India Market By 2025

The British sportscar and supercar manufacturer McLaren Automotive has plans to come to India under its expansion plans. The car maker is looking for new markets including Russia, India and Central/Easter Europe.

The car major announced 18 new cars at the Goodwood Festival of Speed and revealed its expansion plans for 2025 called Track25. McLaren first launched Track22 plan at Geneva Motor Show in 2016. It said that that Track25 is the update of the Track22 plan.

Presently it owns 86 outlets in 31 markets across the globe and it plans to increase its dealership to 100 units by 2025. Also, it announced to convert all its cars into hybrid within seven years. The car maker also promised new augmented driving features including lighter, superfast-charging and high-power battery system for performance applications that will reduce the electric-range around a race track to over 30 minutes.

Also, the company is investing £50 million in developing and manufacturing the future of lightweight technology at its McLaren Composites Technology Centre (MCTC).

But the biggest thing is the launch of the successor of McLaren P1, the world’s first ever petrol-electric hybrid-hypercar, as part of Track25 plan. The company launched McLaren P1 five years ago.

Future of McLaren cars

The company plans enhancing its production to 6,000 cars a year under the Track25 plan. It would be almost 75% increase over its present output. As now, all its cars are hand-assembled at the McLaren Production Centre in Working, England.

WhatsApp Adds Call Waiting And Privacy Features: Here’re The Details

WhatsApp has added an extremely useful feature to its Android app. It is call-waiting and its advantage is that it provides more freedom to the users. But it isn’t the same call-waiting that you get with regular mobile networks. The feature was made available for iPhone app last month.

How does call waiting on WhatsApp work?

Prior to update, WhatsApp allows only call at a time. If you receive a call in the middle of a call, the incoming call was automatically disconnected and marked as missed call. But the update has changed the setting to allow users to either decline the incoming call or accept the incoming call by ending the ongoing call.

The users would see two buttons “Decline” and “End & Accept” on receiving incoming calls in the middle of outgoing calls. They can simply choose the decline the call and continue with the online callers or end the ongoing calls and connect to the incoming callers depending on their needs. It is available on both the beta as well as stable Android channels. The changelog also has group privacy settings and fingerprint unlock feature.

What are privacy settings?

WhatsApp allows its users to control from being added to unknown groups. Also, the users can enable finger print lock to prevent others from reading their WhatsApp messages. Las month, WhatsApp rolled call waiting feature and a redesigned chat screen with Braille keyboard to send messages using VoiceOver mode. Users can download these features from Google Play store.
