Mumbai Indians (MI) will play its first IPL match for season 2022 on 27th March on its home ground. The MI will take on Delhi Capitals (DC) in its first IPL match at Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai. And this day-night match will begin at sharp 3:30 pm.

Rohit Sharma made the big announcement about the opening batsman during a virtual conference. He said that he would open the batting. He had been doing that in the past he was looking forward to opening with Ishan Kishan.
The middle-order batsman Ishan Kishan is the best choice for opening batsman for MI because he has occasionally opened whenever the first-choice players were injured.
Former Sri Lanka captain and MI head coach Mahela Jayawardene also supported the decision of choosing Ishan Kishan for opening. He said that Rohit and Kishan were a good combination. Ishan was a wicketkeeper and there were very few who can bat in the top three.
