Mumbai Indians (MI) will play its first IPL match for season 2022 on 27th March on its home ground. The MI will take on Delhi Capitals (DC) in its first IPL match at Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai. And this day-night match will begin at sharp 3:30 pm.

Skipper Rohit Sharma is focusing on strengthening the batting line of Mumbai Indians. Since MI has experimented with different opening combinations, cricket fans, especially MI supporters want to know who will be the opening batsman with Rohit Sharma.
Last year South African wicketkeeper Quinton de Kock opened MI innings with Rohit Sharma. But MI has to find an opening batsman this year as Quinton de Kock isn’t playing. MI skipper Rohit Sharma revealed the name of the batsman who will bat with him in the opening.

Rohit Sharma made the big announcement about the opening batsman during a virtual conference. He said that he would open the batting. He had been doing that in the past he was looking forward to opening with Ishan Kishan.
The middle-order batsman Ishan Kishan is the best choice for opening batsman for MI because he has occasionally opened whenever the first-choice players were injured.
Former Sri Lanka captain and MI head coach Mahela Jayawardene also supported the decision of choosing Ishan Kishan for opening. He said that Rohit and Kishan were a good combination. Ishan was a wicketkeeper and there were very few who can bat in the top three.
What Did Rohit Sharma Say About Bowlers?
MI has two new bowlers Tymal Mills and Jaydev Unadkat this season. And both the bowlers are new to the franchise. Rohit Sharma said that they weren’t new to the game. They had played for many years and they knew how to bowl. MI skipper further said that it was his responsibility to provide them time to understand their role in the team. Rohit Sharma also said that he was working with the new bowlers. He was trying to give them role clarity so they understand their roles.
