BJP To Start Poll Campaigns For Delhi Elections From PM Modi’s Rally

Weeks after the parliament passing the National Capital Territory of Delhi (Recognition of Property Rights of Residents in Unauthorised Colonies) Bill, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will receive a total of 11 lack signatures by residents of those colonies as a gesture of gratitude at a mega rally in Delhi.

PM Modi’s Delhi rally is going to be mega

BJP would start its election campaign for the assembly elections next year with the mega rally of PM Modi where he will address 2 lack people and apprise the Delhi residents about the milestones achieved by the centre including the bill for unauthorized colonies that grants ownership rights to the residents of unauthorized colonies.

According to senior BJP leader Vijay Goel, the rally was organized to thank PM Modi for regularizing the unauthorized colonies. He said that over 40 lakh residents of 1,731 colonies would be benefitted with this legislation. He further said that the BJP was in full-swing to win assembly election after winning all 7 Lok Sabha seats of Delhi. It will be PM Modi’s first election rally in Delhi after winning a landslide victory in general election last year. The BJP is hoping to make a comeback in Delhi after two decades.

CAA violence in Delhi

PM Modi’s rally will take place at Ramlila Maidan that is nearly one-kilometre from Daryaganj where violence broke out on Friday during a peaceful CAA protestation. The BJP is also gearing up to educate people on CAA. The party has plans to reach out to 3 crores families in next ten days through rallies and press conferences.

Sundar Pichai Promised $242 Million Over Three Years By Google

Sundar Pichai would take a salary of $2 million annually starting 2020. This is the first salary hike for Sundar Pichai after assuming the role of CEO in Alphabet Inc. He will also receive a whopping $240 million in performance-based stock awards over a time of three years.

He’s behind Tim Cook in terms of grants related to CEO. Tim took $376 million as Apple’s CEO according to Equilar, a firm that tracks executive compensations.But Larry Page was taking a salary of $1 as the CEO of Alphabet Inc before stepping down.

Sunder Pichai’s journey to Google

Sundar Pichai became CEO of Google after serving the organization for 15 years. In 2015, his annual salary was $652.500 but his increased the following year due to a massive $199 million in stock awards. He was highest paid Alphabet executive at that time.

Credited for making the Google Chrome browser a success, Sundar Pichai was once considered the potential successor to Microsoft Corp CEO Steve Ballmer before Satya Nadella was instated in February 2014.

Google recently revealed in a statement that Pichai earned nearly $1.9 million in 2018 but most of the cost includes is about his security and use of private airplane. His base salary was $650.000.

He has become the public face of Google at a time when the company is passing through a difficult phase. In addition to the criticism of US Lawmakers, Google is facing wrath of its employees on issues like privacy and monopoly.

Miss America 2020 Camille Schrier Is A Woman Of Science

24-year old Camille Schrier was crowned with the title of Miss America 2020. She’s the 99th Miss America but she’s more in news due to her on-stage science experiment.

When Schrier appeared on the stage, the audience were stunned to see a beauty pageant donning a lab coat and carrying out an experiment. She performed catalytic decomposition of hydrogen peroxide for the world audience before receiving the prestigious title.

A Pennsylvania native, Schrier wanted to break stereotypes be continuing to be a woman of science instead of following the usual trend. She gave the audiences a new perspective to see Miss America 2020.

Graduated from VirginiaTech with dual bachelor of science degrees in biochemistry and systems biology, Schrier is studying to obtain a doctor of pharmacy degree.

Stage performance of Schrier

Schrier’s stage performance was of a person battling an eating disorder. She said that she decided to participate in the competition after ditching its former swimsuit competition portion. She said that she knew that she would never go in swimsuit because she didn’t have a performing talent.

The good thing is that President and CEO of the Miss America Organization Regina Hopper was also supportive of her decision and act. He said that it was the second year when candidates weren’t judged in swimsuits but according to a series of interviews and talent demonstrations.

Schrier became the first woman to perform a science experiment in a pageant. She succeeds 2019 Miss America Nia Franklin, an opera singer from New York.Miss Georgia’s Victoria Hill was the first runner-up.

Dabangg 3: Sai Manjrekar And Kichcha Sudeep Get More Marks Than Salman Khan

Dabangg 3 has all the components available in the previous installments but it fails to receive the applause and reception that the earlier Dabangg movies had. The story is drab and there’s too much of Salman Khan in the movie.

Story

It goes into flashback where a wrestler named Dhaakad Chand Pandey transforms into a smart police officer to take revenge. His love interest in the village attracts the attention of a baddie. The hero tries to save his love but the baddie outsmarts the hero and kills the girl. The hero then vows to take revenge.

Chulbul Pandy is an Assistant Superintendent of Police in Tundla in Uttar Pradesh and known for ruling his area with an iron hand. His first raid on a wedding party that was under attack by an armed gang of robbers shows how brutal Salman Khan could be with outlaws. It is a family drama with a pinch of comedy and lots of action with social messages.

Highlights of the Movie

• Debut movie of Saiee Manjrekar

• Dialogues like hum class aur mass don’t me like kaam karte hain

• Sudeep fits into the character of Bali Singh the baddie

• Salman Khan the trump card of the movie defies age to romance with an actress who’s barely out of her teens

Conclusion

The movie fails to elicit a positive response from the audience including the die-hard fans of Salman because the story lacks speed. There are songs but they seem to be forced on the viewers.

July 1, 1987 Is The New Cut Off For Citizenship In India

The centre went on an overdrive to dispel fears regarding CAA and the proposed nationwide implementation of National Register of Citizens (NRC). Muslims fear that NRC will strip them of their citizenship and leave stateless.

Ministry of Home Affairs dispelled the fear of NRC

The MHA announced that no individual who was born or whose parents were born in India on or before July 1, 1987 would be considered an illegal immigrant. A senior office from MHA said that people born on or before the prescribed date would be considered Indians under naturalization as per the law.

There was no comment on nationwide implementation of NRC but the official said that there was no similarity between CAA and NRC in Assam because the cut-off date in NRC was 1971. The official said that there was no discussion on nationwide implementation of NRC.

2004 Citizenship Act Amendments

The amendments laid certain conditions for awarding citizenship. People that fulfil the following conditions are considered natural citizens of India.

• Born in the country on or after January 1, 1950 but before July 1, 1987

• Born in India on or after July 1, 1987, but before December 3, 2004, and where either parent is a citizen at the time of birth

• If born in India on or after December 3, 2004, to parents who are citizens or one of the parents is a citizen and the other is not an illegal migrant at the time of birth

IPL 2020 Auction: Australian Players Dominated The Auction With Pat Cummins Getting Rs. 15.50 Crore

Australian players received highest bids in the Indian Premier League (IPL) auction 2020. The fast bowler Pat Cummins got the highest bid of Rs. 15.50 crore by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).

IPL auction 2020

A total of 62 players were auctioned and Pat Cummins was the most expensive player of the auction. He was followed by Glenn Maxwell who was bought by Kings XI Punjab for Rs. 10.75 crore. Piyush Chawla, a leg spinner, was bought by three-time IPL Champions Chennai Super Kings in a surprise buy. He got Rs. 6.75 crore.

Chennai Super Kings

CSK retained its core squad but added four bowling options including the leg spinner Piyush Chawla and English all-rounder Sam Curran to the team.

Delhi Capitals

This season, DC invested heavily on big-hitters. They spent Rs. 7.75 crore on ShimronHetmyer and bought Marcus Stoinis for Rs. 4.80 crore.

Kings XI Punjab

In addition to spending Rs. 10.75 crore on Glenn Maxwell, Punjab also invested on the West Indies fast bowler Sheldon Cottrell. He was paid Rs. 8.50 crore.

Kolkata Knight Riders

KKR spent the maximum amount in the IPL auction. They bought Pat Cummins at Rs. 15.50 crore but they didn’t stop and continued adding more firepower to their squad. They also bought England captain Eoin Morgan.

Mumbai Indians

The defending champions Mumbai Indians added Coulter-Nile for Rs. 8 crore and Chris Lynn, who scored heavily in the T10 League, for Rs. 2 crore.

Rajasthan Royals

The Royals are always after youngsters. This season, they picked Mumbai’s Yashasvi Jaiswal for Rs 2.40 crore.Robin Uthappa and Jaydev Unadkat are also with Royals.

Infosys To Pay $800,000 Over Worker Misclassification, Tax Fraud Charges

Infosys is charged with misclassification of employees between 2006 and 2017 and it is asked to pay California $800,000 as a settlement amount for its wrongdoings but the top IT major of India has denied the allegations but agreed to pay the said amount.

Charges against Infosys

It was found that Infosys had approximately 500 employees working on Infosys-sponsored B-1 visas instead of H-1B visas. The California Attorney General Xavier Becerra claimed that India’s top IT major did so to avoid California payroll taxes like unemployment insurance, disability insurance and employment training taxes.

Infosys settlement

The attorney general said that the settlement proved that evading California law didn’t pay to Infosys. He alleged that the company brought employees on wrong visas to save taxes. Also, the workers were underpaid by the company. The settlement brings the company to justice. When asked about the wrongdoings, Infosys denied any wrongdoings.

Earlier incident

It isn’t the first time that Infosys is made to pay for settlement. State of New York also charged the company with submitting wrong documents to federal authorities and made to pay $1 million towards settlement charges.

Whistleblower in California incident

Jack “Jay” Palmer, a former employee of Infosys, filed a lawsuit against the company in 2017. California decided to take action on his complaint and found Infosys to be violating the rules. The California incident came out in November but it was released to the media on Tuesday.
